This Weeks Flight on 15th July 2020 finds us in the Copper Canyon, Mexico. Copper Canyon, in northern Mexico, is a series of massive canyons in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains. Popular for hiking, it gets its name from the copper-green hue of the canyon walls. The famous Chepe (Ferrocarril Barrancas del Cobre) train connects the region via over 80 tunnels and nearly 40 bridges. We will basically follow the rail line from Creel to Temoris (NB: The rail line is very windy and therefore the flight route is only indicative). We then leave the rail line and fly across many canyons finally returning to Creel via northern part of the Rio San Ignacio canyon. Flight suggested by Dan McKee YMA555 Scenery Required: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/42499-copper-canyon/ Only 33MB Ensure to unzip to folder name "Copper Canyon" and that folder goes into your Custom Scenery folder. If unzip gives you two separate files Texture and Earth nav data, then create folder named Copper Canyon and place those two folders inside and then copy Copper Canyon to Custom Scenery. As usual please remember to rebuild your data bases after adding new scenery airports i.e. FSTramp, LNM, PlanG etc Mesh Recommended: http://www.alpilotx.net/downloads/x-plane-11-hd-mesh-scenery-v4/ Choose Square/Tile +20-110 (1.8GB) Aircraft Suggested: Robin DR40 or similar 120kias Comms: Unicom 122.80 unless instructed by ATC Flight Details: LINK Weather: Real time weather, fair weather if conditions are not suitable. 9. Just advising that there has been a change to the flight plan for above flight in case anyone has already setup for the flight. Some additional scenery suggested and slight change to route and destination. And if you have not read the event details it should be quite scenic with views of Matterhorn, Schilthorn, Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger mountains and high observatories plus some interesting airports. Cheers Dan

This Weeks Flight on 17th June 2020 is something different and requires fast hands-on flying at very low altitude. We find ourselves in Wales (no, not Jonah), Wales UK. Anyway, the RAF does some of it's low altitude flying here called “Mach Loops”. We depart RAF Valley (EGOV) and fly approx. 45nm to the circuit which itself is about 34nm in circumference. It is suggested to do a practise run at first at about 200 kias and then do a 2nd circuit as fast as you can survive. If you survive return to RAF Valley (EGOV). NB: Wpt 12 is a very tight turn to the right (002*) Flight suggested by Dan McKee YMA555 Scenery Suggested: Orbx GB TE South is excellent for XP11 NB: The plan starts in Orbx TE Central (which is also recommended) however the scenery for the loop is part of Orbx South RAF Valley EGOV required even if you have Orbx GB above because Orbx does not have a 3D version. Aircraft Suggested: You can use any fast aircraft you choose 200kias -300kias or faster if you dare. The following are suggestions: Whatever aircraft you choose, make sure you enter the correct Multi-player ICAO when logging into Vatsim. Cirrus SF-50 is a default Laminar and is a default CSL in Bluebell. TB Epsilon (Socata) military trainer use CSL for Tucano in Bluebell with ICAO TUCA Eurofighter Fairly small download and use CSL in Bluebell with ICAO EUFI F35a Fairly small download however no CSL so just use ICAO EUFI (will show a Eurofighter) Tutor 115E (Grob) a current RAF military trainer 65MB download and has existing CSL in Bluebell use ICAO G115 Comms: Unicom 122.80 unless instructed by ATC Flight Details: LINK Suggested Altitude: Refer flight Plan Link Weather: Real time weather, fair weather if conditions are not suitable. This Weeks Flight May 20th 2020 starting at 8.00pm AEST finds us in the Caribbean. This flight has had many requests for it to be repeated. Flight created by Col Williams YMA123 Scenery: Default X-Plane or what ever sim you use however it is only known that these airfields are definitely in XP 11 Suggested Scenery: Princess Juliana Int'l TNCM (actually includes TFFG and TQPF) and includes some Ortho scenery for the region. Please ensure that you read the scenery_packs.ini folder notes carefully. This a large download about 1.4GB but this region is popular with on-line flying and no doubt will be used again so it is worth the space. Note: If you get an error message when starting the scenery that objects of the scenery are missing, this is due to the "world-models library". You can find a customized version in the download. Just delete the original version in the "Custom Scenery" of your X-Plane 11 installation and replace it with the customized version from the download. If no error message appears, this step is not necessary !
