This Weeks Flight on 13th May 2020 concludes a two leg flight in Tajikistan. These flights comprise some fairly challenging mountain flying and whilst a flight plan with waypoints is provided for autopilot use, pilots will be challenged to fly true VFR following major roadways and rivers.
Leg 2. Departs Murgab UT44 to the south west to Wpt 1 and follow Murgab River (shows as Mypf06 in LNM due to Cyrillic spelling) to the west. Follow river to the Sarez Lake (Usoi Dam) and again keep following the river bread crumb trail waypoits to our destination, Kalai Khumb UTD2.
Kalai Khumb: A short, steep upward sloping runway 04 makes for a challenging landing. A go-around is possible however an approach from NE is impossible due to 6 degree slope downhill from this end.
