  1. Hi Nikola,

What Kirk has said is correct :) - Please refer to this page as well (https://vatpac.org/help/getting-starting-vatsys/) for some more details specific to setting up the scope.

https://academy.vatpac.org/ also has some good details in the S2 course for you as you begin your training :)

Also the support tickets aren't working for me for some reason. Can't sign in with my VATSIM login or create an account. Hopefully that gets sorted out soon. Thanks in advance guys,

Can you please send me a photo of the error you receive on helpdesk? May help us isolate the issue for you.

  2. Hi David,

The above guys are correct. VATPAC can not control members individual conduct over the network with regards to the specific points you have raised.

Kindly remember that although this is a 'realistic environment', everyone has their own interpretation of how realistic they wish to be in their flying and controlling sessions.

As has been noted. If you have an issue with someone's conduct, the best thing to do is contact a VATSIM Supervisor.

If you have any questions, feel free to direct them to me over DM on the forums, or utilise the helpdesk that Kirk has outlined.

    Thanks,

  3. Good Morning Everyone,

With lockdowns around Australia continuing to remain in force, VATPAC has seen an increase in the number of Controllers and Pilots during Milk Run Monday. This has resulted in a higher level of traffic, and longer delays throughout the event.

In order to increase the smooth running of this event. VATPAC is trialing the introduction of the to the following during all Milk Run Monday events.

    • VATPAC Event Coordinators will be active to assist in the smooth running of the event and ensuring ATC services remain online. You can see any coordinator during these events in the Member List on the VATPAC Discord who have the @eventcoordinator role. Coordinators may also be logged on with the VATPAC35 callsign.
      image.png.1933970a4bf120f58dcb6549b58edb17.png

    • Non-Standard positions will be activated in accordance with the Controller Positions and Ratings Policy. We will be looking to open more Non-Standards than in the past to decrease controller workload, and increase efficiency during Milk Run events.

This trial will be active during September and October of 2021.

Welcome to the next rendition from the Light Up series, Light Up Pacific! It is time to pull out those regional aircraft or commercial airliners and explore the 'PAC' in 'VATPAC'. Join us as we attempt to provide the most realistic ATC services for you as you travel to the many stunning destinations that Pacific islands have to offer.

From the harbour city of Port Moresby to the islands of Fiji, the Pacific Islands are a spectacle of natural wonder!

We have adapted our popular Light Up series to cater for the VATSIM 20th Birthday Celebration month! We look forward to welcoming the entire VATSIM Network to the often-forgotten Pacific Islands within Australian Airspace!

    What is Light Up Pacific?

This event revolves around one of our older events (Regionals and Twins), with the idea being to provide ATC services to more regional locations around Australia and neighbouring islands. So travel to those often-forgotten destinations and provide controllers and pilots alike a different challenge—a chance to fly into an unfamiliar location and try an approach other than the usual ILS approach.

You will receive an Outside Control Airspace Service at most of our airfields from the overlying ENR Controller during this event. Pilots can expect the following service types depending on the class of Airspace.

Different to our normal Light Up series, Oceanic Control services will also be provided to aircraft flying between the nominated fields. Take a look at this Oceanic Tutorial to learn more before you fly!

    image.png.1ee6fc8eb4a04ed1973bcacadbd1ae93.png

    Suggested Major Routes:

The Pacific islands have so much to offer and explore! Whether your flight is high or low, fast or slow, there are plenty of routes to fly. Find some of our suggested routes below, bearing in mind that Pilots are more than welcome to fly other routes from other destinations!

    Port Villa Based Routes:
    NVVV-NFFN: BISUN B598 BEGIT
    NVVV-NWWW: LEDIT B590 NIPOG

    Noumea Based Routes:
    NWWW-NVVV: LTO B590 LEDIT
    NWWW-NFFN: LTO B599 AGUTA

    Fiji Based Routes:
    NFFN-NWWW: CHARLI NN B599 MESUS
    NFFN-NVVV: ALPHA NN B598 VLI

Additionally, there are many, many smaller airfields between which you could fly too! VFR and IFR Aircraft alike are welcome!

    ATC:

Controllers interested in controlling the event are encouraged to submit their ATC Applications here  -  The controller roster will be released on the 18th of August.

Non-standard positions will be rostered depending on the number of ATC Applications received. A non-standard position is denoted with an (*) beside the callsign.
