  1. Hello Everyone,

    I just wanted to send out a merry Christmas to everyone as we enter the festive season this week! It has been a while since we have had a festive season since 'the thing that shall not be named' kicked off in early 2020. Some much needed family catch-up is in store.

    The Events Department will be taking a much needed break from the 22nd of December till the 12th of January. During this time, we will be running our regular events unrostered, and all events will be without an event coordinator. The team deserves a much needed break after the terrific work that they have all done this year.

    Enjoy the many laughs, catchups and relaxing afternoons that the festive season will bring. We will see you all in 2022!

    This month, we invite you to Australia’s famous Pilbara-Kimberley region in WA, famous for its red deserts, extraordinary rock formations and beautiful reefs. With connections to both Perth (YPPH) and Darwin (YPDN), towns in this region play a vital role in keeping WA’s mining and tourism industries rolling. Take full advantage of ATC in this region from 0700z-1000z (1700-2000 AEST; 1500-1800 AWST) on the 3rd of December 2021!

    It is with great sadness that I address the community today to inform that Cameron Wilbraham has handed in his resignation for the position of Events Manager within the VATPAC Events Department.

    Cameron has  been an integral part of the Events Department over the past 16 months since his appointment to the role of coordinator. Shortly after, Cam took on the role as the second-in-chief for the Events Department, and has successfully assisted in running countless regular, major and one off events over the past 14 months.

    Amongst Cams list of achievements was his admiration, commitment and dedication to his role within the Events Department. He was always approachable for all the staff, and took the reigns whenever necessary!

    From the bottom of my heart, and the entire VATPAC Community. Thank you for your service to VATPAC Cam. You will have your place in the books here as a special member of the VATPAC Events Team, and we look forward to seeing you into the future.

    For those of you who applied for WorldFlight Departure, thank you for your patience whilst site issues occurred throughout the day. Unfortunately these issues have not yet been resolved, which is currently making it impossible to publish the WF roster for everyone to review via the site (The issue is still unknown at this stage.)

    Please find below the photos of the WorldFlight Roster as of 1030z on the 5th of November 2021. The times below are in AEST, so you will need to do some calculations if you are on a different timezone, being:

    + 60 minutes = AEDT

    - 30 minutes = ACST

    - 120 minutes = AWST

    In addition, please also find the WorldFlight Departure Controller Briefing here (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-Yib5N7cl859KsicdcJfhbBXxSQ-OYho/view?usp=sharing) – It is expected that all controllers who control during WorldFlight read, and follow this briefing unless otherwise instructed. Please take note of aerodrome Briefing times which any ADC/TCU controller must attend if controlling at that location.

  12. Just some positive feedback to say big thanks to SY_APP (Sam K) for the visual approach into 34L tonight.
    Sam PM'd me to clarify something about the vis approach and I didn't have time to respond before he logged off.
    I'm super rusty with my procedures after a few years away from flying so I appreciate feedback from the controllers, especially when they clearly know their stuff.

    Well done Mr Keast!

    Hello Everyone,

    In order to ensure fairness during Panic Stations Perth, please see the below eligibility requirements for pilot awards.

    Please note: One award will be given to the first aircraft to arrive after each touch down time! The two touch down times are 0815z and 0900z. These awards where generously donated by two anonymous members of the community!

    Pilots:
    Eligibility Requirements

    1. Must be the first aircraft to arrive (touch down) at or after the target arrival time (UTC);
    2. The winning aircraft must make a full stop landing on the active or designated runway at the target airport, having complied with the VATSIM Code of Conduct, Code of Regulations and User Agreement at all times during the event. Aircraft who conduct a go-around will not be considered the winner;
    3. Touch down times will be assessed based on the controller client display showing the aircraft to have arrived on the active runway, with an altitude equal to the airport elevation and a groundspeed suggesting that aircraft has landed;
    4. The pilot departed from an airport which was different from the target airport.
    5. The pilot is not a VATPAC Director and is not involved in the assessment process for awards;
    6. Winners will be assessed by the active event coordinators during the event.
    7. Disputes regarding the decision of awards should be directed to the VATPAC Division Director. Video Evidence will be available for the Division Director to adequately respond to any disputes.

    Thank you, and may the best pilot win!

  17. Hi Mate,

    If Will S could not help you, and it is VATSIMs Authenticatuon System that is not letting you log in to your correct account. I would suggest contacting VATSIM for support on the matter.

    Your new account (105s) has not been disabled, otherwise you wouldn't be able to log into it... would suggest sending a ticket via https://support.vatsim.net/
