is it worth mentioning that it's possible to do a return within the 4 hours or leave that out?

I would probably say leave that out. Only because they would have to realistically depart within the first 30 minutes for that to be viable.

What's your thoughts on trailing the bookings for this? Do you like the idea or is it too much hastle (no real labour from our end as they select the callsigns and aircraft types)

  3. Hi David,

Looks pretty good. I have a few recommendations below, I did not notice anything in the announcement.

    • Would an additional hour during the event be beneficial for people to have a bigger departure window (8-12z)?
    • Have a section detailing how to get to Pilot Tutorials (Help > Pilot Tutorials) - Recommend round where you put the IFR Tutorial
    • I have created the admin.vatpac.org event for this event.
    • I have added a booking page to booking.vatpac.org to trial bookings for this event. At this stage, the following has been planned.
      • Bookings open 18MAY22
      • Bookings close 16JUN22

There are major events on 12th and 26th June. Do you have a preference for a date and time?

    Hey mate,

I'll get back to you on that in the morning. I'm thinking around the 20th should work perfectly to slot this one in.

  10. @David BromageI am looking to run the next edition of this event in June, and then alternate every two or three months depending on discussions we have at the next staff meeting.

Just letting you know so you have ample time to prepare :) - Asana project is available for you to create your own deadlines etc.

    Hello All,

The VATPAC Events Department is asking for the community to provide input on a new event being introduced into the VATPAC Events Calendar. This event will be running every two or three months depending on initial success.

'Training Night' is an adaptation from the popular 'Newbie Night' series that has ran in the past within VATPAC, and is aimed at providing pilots and controllers with the opportunity to learn and grow with new procedures and operations within VATPAC Airspace. Pilots will be provided with additional tutorials, information and sources to learn the correct procedures, and controllers will have the benefit of experienced controllers observing and pitching in their expertise.

Please vote from the 'generic selection' above to decide the first few editions of this event. Please reply to this thread with any ideas that you have have (we ask that you provide significant details when proposing events).

Voting will remain open until the 1st of April 2022.

    Thank you all,
