  1. The issue here is that Better Pushback has a memory. It remembers every pushback from a particular gate, so what you are seeing is every pushback made from that  ML gate.  So when you execute the pushback it will try to do ALL of them!

To fix this, go to that gate, select "pre-plan pushback" then press the Delete key as many time as necessary until all previous pushes are removed.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

  2. G'day Craig, long time no see.

I assume you're talking about XSquawkbox here....

I had the same problem, was very frustrating....

The answer is in XP11 the TAB key is now "reserved" (whatever that means).  Simple solution is to reassign another key to the display text function.  I use T (for "text", easy to remember)

    Cheers

  3. Sean,

Good point.  We're at the stage where we felt the need to tweak our outfit a little.  Offer an alternative if anyone feels the urge to change.

Waiting lists? Haven't heard of that....  why would you have a waiting list?

  4. To continue.....  we are still moving forward....

    Teasers....  B767-300ER, DC6 A and B, B722-200A and F...

May or may not be added to the Compass fleet...  or available just for fun.

    Compass relaunch will elaborate :-)

    Hopefully soon.  Stay tuned.

  5. No Col, we're not dead!

As far as I know we still have at least 7 or 8 dedicated pilots.  Yes, lately Compass has been running by itself and that is testament to how well Jackson set it up in the first place.  Lack of of Forum posts....  I guess most of our pilots don't need assistance.

As Jackson said, a Compass relaunch in the the near future.  New things... a new modern website, SmartCARS and a revised fleet. Also Compass liveries for those who use XPlane.

So yes, we're still here, small but dedicated.

    Cheers

  6. Confused...

As I understand it, this event runs from 0400 - 1100 UTC Jan 10.

When I access the flight booking page the flight selection times seem a bit skewed...

e.g.  If I select QLK2357 RK BN, it gives me an arrival time BN of 1600 UTC  i.e. 2:00 AM !!

For me all the flight booking times are skewed and bear no resemblance to to the actual timing of the the event.

    Is it just me?

    cheers

  7. OK, so Tuppy and Kirk have made their views clear. They don't like CTAFS and don't use them.

So can I ask you both why not? They are the real world practice and surely we should be aiming to replicate what we can where we can and this one is eminently achievable. Tell me why so we can make it work.

    Jackson

JH, Yes, absolutely as you stated, however I think this is a situation where it is difficult to replicate real world. Firstly, for me, I use vPilot so my ability to transmit intentions on an appropriate frequency is not available. As I understand it, currently FSInn users can use CTAF voice (is that correct?), but still should (but some don't!) transmit on 122.8 text? Until we have a universal pilot client that has the ability to use voice, then, sadly, I think we are stuck with the lowest common denominator, i.e. 122.8 and text. Until everybody is on the "same page" it will remain a bit of a hodge podge. As for pilot education.... Hmmm, a large percentage can't even fly the aircraft they have (notably 777's of late ;-). Getting them to understand the concept of CTAF's.... not sure.

You say this is "eminently achievable".... Interested to hear how we would go about this. I'm not a nay-sayer, I'd love to see this realism achieved.

    cheers

Addendum.... the current concept of 122.8 and text reporting already escapes many pilot!

  8. I hate to wave a red flag at a bull here, but I fail to see the problem, only VATPAC uses voice unicom and CTAF rooms, Generally only VATPAC members that are in the know use the Voice Unicom and CTAF rooms, This doesn't include me I don't use them. Only VATPAC members would go to the effort of adding the FSINN voice rooms.

The policy that was written up by VATPAC for the use of voice unicom and CTAFS, also states that you MUST also make your broadcast via TEXT, for the benefit of people that are not in the same room, so whats the point, you have to use Text at all times regardless.

    Hear hear! Absolutely spot on.

  9. Correct Lionel...... Didn't take you long !

Another very difficult place to fly into.... First you have to find it, then the approach and landing.......

Perhaps you can find a more difficult to find one....

  10. Saba ! (TNCS) Netherland Antilles, Carribean. Allegedly the shortest commercial runway in the world.

... and yes it's in FSX. Many a white-knuckle flight into there mostly in a Twin Otter.

FWIW, this island is included in payware Fly Tampa St Maarten scenery (very nice too!). Also, there's an error in the FS database, the ICAO code is listed as SABA, not the (correct) TNCS.

    A good challenging airport.

  11. posted on the avsim forums as well.

I don't care who buys it...just that they develop it properly and actually create a proper multiplayer environment, etc or some way that allows us to seamlessly connect to VATSIM.

Err... something along the lines of Lockheed Martin Prepar3d and vPilot? That sort of thing? :D
