  1. Quigs, I hope you find rest.

You were such an amazing man, always willing to have a conversation, or willing to listen to my youthful rants. Similar to how I was always willing to listen to your stories.

Fly high, cleared to leave controlled airspace. Frequency change approved.

At what point would you change back to the normal callsign? Would this not be the exact same as the aformentioned, only later?

You wouldn't, in my experience. For instance when I control in the US, for Anchorage i log in as ANC_O3_CTR rather than 03_CTR.

    Makes it a bit easier

I do see the benefit in it and am trying to play devils advocate a little. However, I do hope to see you both doing the proper handover briefings online in the future ;)

one thing i pride myself is proper handover briefings haha, but good guide mate

what benefit does logging in with a relief callsign have over an observer callsign?

The way I see it, the observer would log into to be able to view their airspace, setup the sector information required, copy over ATIS, and do the brief. If you are fully setup, chaning over to the CTR callsign should be a matter of announcing "controller change in progress", the controller disconnecting, and you reconnecting as a controller. I fail to see hopw this takes any more than 15 seconds. Or am I missing something.......?

If someone logs in with a relief calllsign, then instead of disconnecting and such, the outgoing controller can hand off aircraft, and the incoming can just simply TX/RX the frequency. It makes for easier transfer of control.

Thank you for your suggestion however due to PAJN being located in Alaska I think you'd be better suited asking someone in VATUSA about organizing an event there.

    Out of our jurisdiction :P

Sam, I realise now that I asked about the wrong event

I meant to say Wednesday Discovery, such as the following events

It'd be great if we could get some Alaskan events, such a pretty state

  5. Hey All, in July between the 6th and the 24th, I'm going to be in the gold coast for about a week (not sure of the exact dates). I'm most likely able to travel on the train or bus.

Thanks all, hope to see you then!

Tristan, any news?  What’s happening with this?

Sean, Tristan is not involved in this any more.

Peter, Knowing I am no longer involved, I would still be happy to write a rundown document on differences if you wish?

There is a main difference with entering class D airspace in the FAA, this being it. image.png.3c7a999fc5ec5d1c0801f3b6f6b6839d.png

More specifically the Current Transponder Code.

    Otherwise procedures are very similar,

I could do a cheat sheet on .65 phraseology if you wish?
