Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd share the longest ATIS I've ever heard recorded early this morning after Sydney opened!!
What do you think? Is this too much for an ATIS?

Ive tried to use Teamspeak but every room I try I get insufficient permission. Its my first go at using Teamspeak and Ive got a pic here so you might see what i am doing.
Hi Michael,
To move around the teamspeak a staff member of VATPAC Needs to assign you permissions. There is usually one on every evening who will be able to help you out.

It is the job of whomever issues the pilot with their initial clearance.
However, if traffic is light, there's not a lot wrong with cruising at a non-standard level.

Hi Guys,
Lately more and more Pilots have been forgetting which altitude they should be cruising at for the direction they're flying. My question is who's job as a Controller is it to change this in their flight plan and tell the Pilot? Is it up to the lowest position (Eg. Tower) to pick this up or should the Center controller change it on the Cruise?

Great job to everyone today especially the Pilots! It would have been boring if we didn't have the traffic we did! Although not the typical Panic Stations I thought it was very well coordinated and definitely provided lots of traffic controllers so My Congratz to the Events Team!
In fact I thought it was such a good event, I'm still logged on now

Sorry to bring it up again however the Oceania server is still dropping out randomly at the moment. Today it went down for 5 minutes, This was the VATSIM Server, Teamspeak and related services. It's beginning to be incredibly annoying especially when flying because it means we have to consistently log back onto the Network, or suffer slower services by using another server.

I would definitely be heavily involved in something like this if People are interested and I think it's important if other Controllers aren't interested in helping out, they can control in a different area during the night
I am also always on Teamspeak when Controlling so I can further assist people then
I will work on some documents and tutorials for New Pilots (With Plenty of Screenshots

That's Terrible! And Not a good image to new Members to VATPAC!
Well I would love to see something like this come back and have a simple rule, If you don't want to have patience to teach the newbies, Don't Log on for a couple of hours! I think the whole idea of talking them through things so they don't make the mistakes when it is busy and we don't want them too will benefit they're flying experience in the VATPAC Airspace.
I would be up for helping them out! And I'm sure I can find others who would be interested in helping

Teamspeak, and The Oceanic VATSIM Server. Weird thing is we were loosing connection to Teamspeak randomly at different times.

G'day Guys,
Went to logon to Perth approach this evening and it took me ages to get the voice channels working. Eventually I was able to get it working but only on rw3.vatpac.org . Rw1 and 2 were not working.... Any reason behind this??

G'day Guys,
The last few nights I have been talking to ATC and there have been many reports of my transmission being unreadable/broken. However I can use other programs even consecutively without a problem (Teamspeak, skype). I then joined a controller last night who was using different voice server's to rw1.vatpac.org and I didn't have a problem.... Is anyone experienceing this???
I hope I can fix this issue because no voice is terrible

Hi Saleh,
If you experience some connection issues, You can check which servers are up using VATSPY. If you go to the Network Servers tab and click Ping for each server, those that return a ping are working.
Otherwise, I was controlling at that time and didn't have an issue.
