real controlling without radar
I've done my time in procedural land thanks, getting 3 miles will do me fine for now.
OneSky project so you can do that in a few years time!No comment :-X

Double click to acknowledge the error, then once again to close the window. Far too much friggin' around mate!
Look, I know that Jake put in one Hell of a lot of effort to get this as close to real life as possible. I remember him as a rather keen youngster on VATPAC, hoping (like many others) to get into ATC professionally. I'm ecstatic that he has managed it! That he has also created this simulacrum of ASA's system is an achievement worthy of the highest accolades. Bloody well done Jake! However, I would like to have the local area control backup and the pilot competence that this system assumes.
That you are, perhaps overly, familiar with ""Error code 4" or code 0" indicates to me, who has never in the past 36 months (switched to fiber Optic to the house) had a "connection" issue, that there are false positives being reported. The bulk of the errors I had were reports that the function I had requested was not available. To re-iterate my point: Were there to be no response, no presentation of an expected result, would be better than going through the process (3 clicks) of disposing of that error window. It unduly interrupts my thought processes, such as they are.
Now, you may well think that TAAATS is the greatest thing since sliced bread and for you this may well be true. However, for me, this ONE thing, that error window, ruins the entire experience. I would rather work with Euroscope 3.2 and adjust it to fit the Australian milieu than deal with that bloody window.
You'll be pleased to know that that window (now known as the "Quigdow") is not in the new project
I haven't used TAAATSMod in anger for a long while, but I recall if you place Maestro/TFMS in "Offline mode" it prevents the download error codes appearing.

Hi Jake can this be simulated?
At this stage I'm not planning on a full flightplan based conflict probe. There's no fun in having the system tell you where all the conflicts are :
What about the Coord menu Nobody can get it working in VRC or ES LOL
There will be a VSCS

Man this is AWESOME!
If you need anything from an IT (web) perspective, let me know.
Do you think an advanced weather "popup" would be available? I have no clue what sort of weather you have available to you as a controller, but obviously you have things like METAR's, Area QNH, WX radar (?)
I know of some sources for WX radar feeds from BOM and also the backend NAIPS API/WSDL service which i'm not quite sure how to use....maybe you know or can find out.
Thanks Zach. I haven't worked out how I'll tackle MET and NOTAMs yet, besides the obvious VATSIM METARs.

Hey Jake, this looks absolutely amazing and i have been wanting a standalone TAAATS client for a while now LOL.
For that ATIS window, is there a way to use my provided ATIS files (Software page)
They are recorded from the real world and since you'd like to make a more real system, i see my files as helping that
Hi Eoin
The project uses Windows text-to-speech so that you can make it say anything you like. Abbreviations and phrases are defined in a data file (for instance, "GT 10KM" translates to "Greater than 1 0 kilometers"). This allows much greater flexibility than having every possible phrase pre-recorded, and is also how the real life systems are implemented. Installed voices are selectable via drop-down. And yes, Timechecks are now a thing
Cheers

Hello All
I haven't posted here in a while, but I have been lurking, watching with particular interest threads concerning TAAATSMod and controller clients. As the author of TAAATSMod (a LONG time ago now!) I've been asked to provide an update on where things stand with the plugin for Euroscope and whether or not there is ever going to be an update for it.
I'm afraid I have some bad news. TAAATSMod is dead. The original code has vanished, never to see the light of day again. There will never be an update.
However, despair not! For all those application crashes over the years have not been in vain. Besides lurking here, in my spare time I have been developing a TAAATSMod replacement. It's more than a plugin. It's its own standalone client. My goal has been to develop something that more closely simulates real life systems. To the point that it is just about simulating features that I would like to have available in the actual real life system I use every day at work. Compared to what EuroScope/TAAATSMod provides now, think: proper map projection, GRIB wind factored trajectory calculations, text-to-voice ATIS creation, lateral conflict probing and other advanced procedural / surveillance based tools and more cool stuff I'm not going to share yet.
There is a big catch to all of this. This project (I don't even have a name yet!), is a hobby. I am not committing to any timeframe. It could be years yet. So I ask that you please respect this and know that if it was ready, you would have it already. I will try to provide updates from time to time as / if / when things progress. At this point I do not require any additional testers. The screenshots I've attached are very early development, so expect that things will change.
Cheers

Outside tower hours radar approach services are provided from Brisbane Centre. The base of controlled airspace becomes 700FT (Class E). This is when the radar SID would be used. During Tower hours, procedural approach is provided by Tower. Tower is not allowed to use radar for separation, and may only request a "one shot" separation of aircraft by Brisbane centre (eg. Definite passing by radar).
Similar arrangements exist for Mackay, Hobart and Launceston.
See ERSA for more information.

No restrictions or requirements, your onwards

Don't feel too bad John, I never finished it off - there are many unresolved bugs (some causing app crashes) which made it more hindrance than help.
The TAAATSmod source code has since vanished, lost on a hard drive that for the life of me I cannot find. Consequently it will never be updated again. Though this may not be the last time "Maestro" makes an appearance online...

David and all involved with this,
Well done! Truly great work :clap:
I've only had a quick flick through but already it's clear how comprehensive it is. You've managed to recreate the ATS bible (in fact, in some respects it's better than the real thing!). A huge step forward. Congrats.

The original code is buried somewhere. I do have something else up my sleeve though. Expect update soon.

Hello All,
Voice unicom aside (seeing and you have to text anyway!) I have spent quite a bit of time getting the FTX AI into a file that can be used in Vpilot! Change the .zip to .vmr and jobs a good en!
Regards,
Daniel.
Well done that man! Just what I was looking for

It's not required, just report your assigned level. When not identified you should report last vacated level, not that many pilots actually do.
-
Why do you think that Pete?
Admittedly, I haven't spent much time in yet but it seems at least on par with the NGX...
-
If you have SmallPartRejectRadius=x in your CFG, remove it and see if that fixes the issue. Because the runway lights are very small 3D models, if they are less than x pixels in size at a distance they won't be displayed.
-
I haven't bothered with a migration tool, all they are doing are changing a few registry keys and renaming your p3d.exe to fool the installers.... easy enough to do yourself
-
True Sean, but hell hath no fury like procedural DTI!
As one controller put it "All responsibility and no control"
You radar types have it all wrong - nothing bad can happen if you can't see where they actually are :teeth:
Just don't forget to tell them about each other!

Regular F70 run is YBBN-YORG-YMEN-YTEF and reverse. Before that the F100 used to do YBBN-YORG-YBAS-YTEF and reverse (minus the tech stop in Alice due tailwinds).
I believe YBBN-YORG and vv are empty legs. Or at least not too many on board because it climbs REAL well out of YORG!
The F70 climbs well?? Takes about 7 years for it to climb out of Telfer!
-
Soon :teeth: We call it "ICE" though (has some Bogan, amongst others).
-
South Aus:
Moomba YOOM
Prominent Hill YPMH
Beverley YBEE
Regularly take "Jets" (RJ1H, F100 & C525 respectively)
Coober Pedy YCBP
Olympic Dam YOLD
Challenger YCGR
Arkaroola YARK
Are other nearby mining airports that take turboprops (SF34, F50, SW3 types)
Some of these airports aren't in FSX. Ozx scenery adds a few.

I just had a week off, but somehow forgot to replicate INTAS
The actual consoles this software runs on are much more impressive, ultra flexible for whatever is required and the ATCs particular tastes.
The lack of enroute representation was interesting, especially as we have a new Eurocat sim in the academy to show off. Oh well, the public already think we all work in a Tower...

I believe this to be true, but whether it's BS or not is still subject to change.
TAAATSMod Future
in Controller Clients

I haven't tested it yet, but with the way the program is designed it shouldn't be an issue.
I have been testing the graphic reroute however
