Hey Josh thanks for the quick responses.
So yes I have stumbled across ChasePlane and have just started watching Matt Davies' video on it. I'll go through that first but I'm already sold 5 minutes in.
I think I'll install that and get it set up, the cockpit view issues could well be resolved once I can pan the camera and get it set up. If it still looks weird I'll take a screenshot and post as you suggest.
AS16 - can I run it in P3D v4 or do I need to buy a whole new Active Sky product?
Have to say the excitement is returning big time I am really looking forward to getting back into it!

So far I have successfully downloaded and installed Prepar3d v4 and the PMDG 737NGX.
I got as far as getting it to load and sit on the end of the runway but settings wise it is clearly strange. The cockpit looked a bit elongated and weird. Nothing like what I see when watching youtube vids.
What other standard addons should I be getting ... has been so long I forget. I did have AS16 but I suspect that won't work. What was the camera thing too ... EZCA?

Ok guys after much dithering I am keen to get back into it. I actually have 10 days leave starting today and am determined to get back into it!
So I will watch the video Josh linked above, but my basic plan is to:
* Uninstall V3 and all associated add-ons
* Buy the V4 Academic licence and install;
*Buy PMDG 737
* Go through the entire AoA 737 training package (purchased weeks ago but was too busy to do anything about it).
Anything obvious missing from this approach?

Actually, following on from this if there are any VATPAC Jetmax users that would be up for a PM conversation on their experiences, I would love to have a chat. I'm about to launch into some house renos in the next few months that might let me take advantage. I've joined the FB group too.

Thanks guys. I'm launching into some house renos in 2018, and will be building a dedicated computer desk in the study. I probably don't have the opportunity to go the full hog yet but I'd certainly like to see some options. Will try the facebook group as suggested, many thanks.

I know this is ancient but since I couldn't access any photos I went and looked at the Jetmax site. So much want. I see some of the galleries are of Australian setups, any of them members here?

Well I guess I only had 2 aircraft - C172 and Turbo Duke - so I might as well take the plunge!
Do I need to purge V3 first or does V4 upgrade over the top?
I must admit I'm kinda torn between getting the 737 and learning to fly that or go the ATC route for a while.

I actually have a decent PC so I think the hardware side could cut it. If I don’t have to upgrade I’m ok but obviously don’t want to buy aircraft I’ll then have to buy again when I do go to v4?

Hey all ... real world got in the way and I kinda fell off the simming bandwagon for most of 2017
. Thinking about making a comeback over the Christmas break but really not sure where to begin. I was running with Prepar3d v3 - do I need to upgrade to v4? Will I need to pay for the upgrade? Similarly AS16 ?? I never made it to the bigtime last time so I’d like to go PMDG 737, but I’m not even sure what I need to do to get back up and running.
Advice welcome please!

Hi Chris,
Out of interest when I looked at the screen showing current flights it was showing my flight as landed but with zero passengers.This is normal since you had landed and your passengers had disembarked. This is an indication that it is safe to log off. If you log off before this happens there may be problems depositing your pax at your destination and they may be returned to your origin airport as a "disconnection".
Ahhh ok ... thanks. I'll run out of newbie questions eventually. I am going to have to learn to fly something with a higher capacity!

It has recorded a flight on 2nd, in VH-CJM from YMAV - YSCB with five PAX. Which is 100% capacity if it was either B60 or B60T.

First off, for the purposes of this game, NSW/ACT are one and the same State.
Noooooooooooooooo .... well I guess it makes sense. I don't really want to be a NSW by default, I might have to defect to QLD!
Cool idea though, I am in, I don't know if I can use my B60T or am I finally going to have to learn to fly a 737?

Hey all another quick one. Have been enjoying flying around in the Beech Turbine Duke. Regarding flying to major airports - is there any restrictions on flying there with GA aircraft? I know it's not "realistic" and I wouldn't do it during Milk Runs, but I thought it might be good practice on nights like last night where there was full ATC coverage but light traffic?

Awesome, I just so happened to fly a B60T into Tindal using both VATSIM and FSEconomy, would be perfect for this scenario, will leave it up there in readiness!

Time to dig out this old thread
So I flew out of the active milk run airport for the first time which was great. The single biggest problem I had though was the sound quality of the ATC instructions, particularly on the longer commands. Is there a standard protocol for repeats and/or going to text? I was really conscious of not wanting to disrupt the pattern of ops but at times it was really difficult to understand.

Just in addition to my last post. What are your computer specifications? It could possibly be that your computer isn't handling the power of P3D
Fair question but it's definitely not the PC, I upgraded recently and it's more than capable of handling it. I am still on P3D v3.3 though so maybe I should do as you suggest and get 3.4 going.

Fly all the way from YBCG, navigate my first full departure from an active Milk Run airport, turning to final at YSBK and P3D crashes on me. Not happy Jan! I seem to be having a fair bit of trouble with P3D crashing lately

Active Sky updated, turns out a valid AS16 licence was fully usable for ASP4 and no additional payment required!
I have Chase Plane installed and am slowly setting up some pre-sets, those look good but I still havent figured out how to "free-roam" around the cockpit freely and quickly.
Anyway thats enough to probably start sitting on the tarmac and going through the AoA ground work package!
