  1. Hi all

I am having an issue with P3D v4 (using Chase Plane) periodically has view changes slowing to an absolute crawl - sometimes taking well over 30 secs.

I'm still learning the 737NGX.  I'm running three monitors, I have P3D in the centre.  I'm watching the Angle of Attack training videos on the left and have dropbox on the right with flight plans and charts etc.

Everything works fine but after a while especially the view change on chase plane slows to the point it is unusable.

I thought it might be memory or CPU overload but with task manager open watching the numbers neither CPU nor memory seems maxed out.

System is i5 6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1070 Graphics Card.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance :)

No need to file a flight plan! Although it may be wise to file a flight plan with something like "newcomer observing ATC" in your remarks.

Thanks David.  How far can I go with the list? Obviously the aircraft can't move. But if I am sitting off in a maintenance area or somesuch can I start engines? Or is that best done offline and just cease at that point.

  3. Hi all

Noting VATPAC is currently operation on cycle 1812, I am looking to get a Navigraph subscription.  I assume the next update will be February, and it would make sense to commence subscription then?

  4. Apologies I am kind of spamming this forum with questions!

So we have just finished house renovations and I am setting up what I hope will be a great space to fly.  I used to have an amp with good Klipsch speakers and a large subwoofer for movies on the big TV.  Just before the reno the amp died so we went with a cheaper option of a decent soundbar for the TV.

So I now have the good speakers that I want to connect to the PC for flight sim purposes.  My plan is to have ambient aircraft noise through the external speakers and just use headphones for ATC comms.  I even had the rear speakers mounted and speaker wire run through the roof and down through the wall to come out near the PC desk.

My question is though - how do I connect 5.1 large speakers with proper speaker wire to the PC ???????  :)

  5. Hmmmm well hi :)  Things got a bit hectic in the second half of 2018.  Did a complete renovation of the house but now I have the study set up and I have cabled rear speakers to the back of the room with the intent of being able to have ambient aircraft noise through the speakers and headset solely for ATC.

Back to square one on the actual learning the 737 I think I will have to start the AoA 737 flightwork series from scratch,

Happy new year!  Determined to get up and flying in 2019.
