  4. Also, some further feedback from another member!

“Had the pleasure of flying into YSSY tonight with Daryl Lyons on ML WOL CTR. As soon as I joined the frequency, I could tell that he was under the pump. Despite being hit with just about every problem you could get as a controller - unresponsive pilots, pilots unable to follow instructions, connection issues, and a few go arounds - he remained calm, professional and switched on the whole time. Well done Daryl, I know I speak on behalf of the entire VATPAC community when I say that your experience is highly valued and appreciated.”

    Nice one Daryl!

  5. Hey Ben,

It's really funny, we were talking about this today.

There is some things in the works in regards to what happens after you do the exam. For now though, it's just a matter of asking around, doing some research into the positions like looking through MATS or AIP and gaining some experience.

If you need any help, feel free to ask around or send me an email at atc [at] vatpac [dot] org. There is always someone who will be willing to help!

Thank you Greg from a very grateful community!

  7. Hi Everyone,

The VATPAC board is putting together a roster of the places our controllers control outside of VATPAC. This will help with preparation for events and also to see where everyone likes to control! We would appreciate it if you all fill out the following form to help us in this process:

    https://goo.gl/forms/fPaPGMiuD6OmhzYO2

The form should also be filled out everytime you become a visitor in a FIR/ARTCC/vACC/Division so we can keep the roster up to date and relevant.

To clarify, this form is for all VATPAC local controllers that visit another FIR/ARTCC/vACC/Division etc.

If anybody has any issues with the form or any questions please let me know.

    Thanks for your time everyone!

We look forward to seeing what Will can bring to the team. We are sure that he will do a great job in training our newest generation of controllers.

Welcome to your new role Will!
