  2. How many of these positions might be viable?

    SY_PAR_APP Parallel Approach Radar: 119.45 (or 133.95)

    and obviously SY_DEL 126.50 or 133.80

    S1 available positions in italics.

Not meaning to be rude about it, but none of those positions are required and/or viable at this time for rostering purposes. SY_GND and SY_DEL are available to anyone who may wish to open them, as per normal.

As stated previously the event will be monitored, and if it becomes necessary then VATPAC staff will ask people to open non standard positions.

  3. Thank you to all that submitted a request form. Unfortunately due to the sheer number of booking requests received, not everyone has received a position. To those that missed out this time, it has been noted for the next event, and it would be great to see you join in as a pilot for this event.

  4. Hi,

    Apologies for the short notice.

We will be flying from Saigon to Melbourne, a distance of 3740nm.

Departing VVTS on 17th June 2007, at 0000z (1000 AEST) YMML arrivals at 0800z (1800 AEST).

    Route:

VVTS SID AC L644 LOSON M768 BRU B583 DN J251 TN J30 TNK T25 BHI J19 NYA H119 CANTY STAR YMML

Good scenery for VVTS is available from Avsim.net

  5. Well, that was a good flight.

Thank you to all who turned out for the flight, and thank you to the atc personnel, it made a good flight even better.

Some concerns about two hours out from the Island, with number crunching to see if we could hold or would need to divert to Jakarta if the weather did not break. With reported cloud base below the minimum, it was good to see a break in the cloud, with conditions improving to provide visibility in excess of 10nm on final.

  6. Andrew,

DCRM = Divisional Conflict Resolution Manager

    Roland,

Why send it to every member of the board, if they are not going to pass judgement on it, that is just rumor mongering and putting a person/people in bad light for no reason.

Andrew said he made is complaint to VA liaison and Division Director, if there is conflict to resolve then it should go to the DCRM. It should only be discussed at board level when all matters are resolved and can not be reignited.

  7. Whichever you choose, the matter will automatically be heard by the full VATPAC Board.

I truly hope this is not true, for the reason of transparency and accountability alone, the VATPAC board cannot and should not police themselves.

If the complaint is about VATPAC as a whole entity and the way it is run or set up, then yes it would be appropriate to be heard by the full board.

If the complaint is about an individual, even if said individual is a board member, then it should be directed to the DCRM, and if necessary an appeal can be heard by the review panel.

  8. May sees the VLHC return to Australian skies for the entire duration of the group flight.

    The flight this month:

    Adelaide to Christmas Island

    YPAD/YPXM

    19/05/2007

    ETD: 0100Z

    ETA: 0630Z

YPAD SID WINCH B340 LM G209 ISRAN DCT YPXM

    2350 NM

Members of VLHC can expect the club email to be sent in the next 7 days, it will contain all relevant flight information.

Could the talented members of VATPAC ATC services please note these times and date, it would be very much appreciated if we could get close to full services across the continent.

  9. Andrew,

Just because you like it does not mean everyone does, my comments are my comments and have nothing to do with my role as DCRM.

You know as well as I that if an event is posted in the forums with the appropriate notice people will fly, a booking system makes no difference to that, and it is wrong to expect all pilots and VA's to post flights in advance.

The majority of the Aussies I see flying in the US and Europe do so during our day, when the US and European controllers are in their peak periods... booking systems have nothing to do with that... just time zones.
