Just putting thoughts out there... when a pilot is entering an App/Dep control zone from Class A and there was no control in the Class A on vatsim, who has the responsibility to contact who? Does the pilot need to request clearance to enter controlled airspace prior to entering the App/Dep controllers airspace even though in the realworld they would have needed clearance to be in Class A?

Nice setup guys. I wish i had a stand for AAV there doing flights from Perth.

What scenery is available for Sunshine Coast. I know the old VOZ package was quite good... but not aware of anything simmilar for FSX???

Thanks for all the replies. This post was not a result of a lack in the current team... I merely would like to start one not run by a region. A private one as to speak. I am interested in people who have the experience and the time to instruct and develop training in small single engine aircraft, maybe twin engine. So if anyone is interested please contact me.
Cheers

Good afternoon,
I am thinking about starting a VATPAC Pilot ATO to train people in VATPAC on the P1 rating. My idea is me mearly thinking about how to start it off, and construct the web side. I am wanting to know if there is anyone out there who would like to instruct, and provide the training packages. I have a registered domain.
If people could PM me if there interested in training others that would be great.
Thanks

Hey everyone,
I have recently been asked to manage Jetstar Virtual Airlines at http://www.jetstar.simmiles.com which seems to be needing some tender love.
James McMinns from NZ is taking charge of some training and he hopes to have things moving ahead soon. If you already fly on vatsim under a JST or JSA callsign, why not just join us and we will record your hours.
If your also having problems with the WILCO Airbus then I'm happy to give you some advice.
We are working on the site to make it better so any tips or pointers will be much appreciated.
As an opening offer, if you apply within the next two weeks you will be made a Second Officer straight away, skipping Cadet, which mean you will be able to fly the A320 and A321. Progression is training based and once an instructor clears you to fly the A330 you will make First Officer.
I look forward to your comments and applications.
Jetstar Virtual Airlines is part of the Simmiles network.
Cheers

Sean, This looks like a real sar site? is this a VA?
-
Yeh I use it. It's quite good

ok... what about an outcome!!!!
From a design perspective. To have a square cut bottom to the logo is cheap and not very well thought through. If you are making a document you need to logo to blend to white... however also needs to blend to other areas like forums and stuff... A consideration.
I would like to start writing some stuff for pubs and I'm waiting for a brand decision!

I just spoke to James Larkin and RAAFv have planned for some activities. And information will come out in the next week or so.
Wait Out

Yeh I was talking about an event

It's probably the only airshow of a large international significance. We should attempt to do something. But if we want visitors from overseas we better put the call out soon

I believe there is a very common error out there when it comes to understanding what is meant when a controller says "report visual". I have been told that report visual is a request to the pilot that they are flying in VMC, not if they can see the airport?
?
ATC: QFA20 airport is at your 10 o'clock report visual
QFA20: Visual, QFA20
ATC: Cleared for the visual approach runway 34L
QFA20: Cleared visual approach runway 34L, QFA20

Hey everyone,
I have just started Australian Army Virtual. If you are interested in joining go to the site and submit and application. This is only very new but some of the exciting things will be the integrated relationship with other VSOA's in order to bring the full realism to its members.
Any questions... just post here.
Thanks

Voice CTAF and Pilot Client woes
in Pilot Clients and Utilities
Posted
I think that voice should be the default. Everyone has speakers (and if they don't, why are they flying) which would mean that there is no such thing as "text only" you can either receive or both. That way pilots are always heard on voice, if you can only send text then pilots can see what your doing, and communicate back on voice.
