Good evening,
It is with deep sadness that I need to announce the resignation of Greg Barber from the role of Director of the Australia Pacific Division.
Greg has been part of the leadership of VATPAC for a number of years and his contributions have been nothing short of exemplary. He was a pioneer of many processes from ATC Training to documentation and policy.
Going forward I would like to welcome Tracy Shiffman as Acting Divisional Director for 12 months. Tracy has been with the network for a considerable time and will continue the forward vision of the Divison.

Due to changes within the regional structure, I must advise you all that Peter Sandiford will be leaving the regional staff team. I would like to thank Peter for his dedication to the organisation and for his willingness to jump in during a time of need within the region.
The Regional Membership Manager position has been disbanded and further information and the regional changes will be advised in due course.
Please join with me in thanking Peter.

There isn't really any need for a CD/DVD drive anymore... 😊

You could update your logos as the VATPAC ones are both very wrong
-
I had the same problem. Was very annoying. I fixed it by running p3d and vpilot as administrator
-
Hey Ross, can you send me an email to [email protected] to start some dialogue. Cheers
-
Hey Zach, thanks for the feedback. Found out it had to do with screen width and image alignment... was working good for me, but you should see it has been fixed. Thanks

Hi all,
I have just finished the first push to get the VATOCE website updated. Have a look www.vatoce.net. If you have any comments feel free to add them below.
If you would like an image on the front page... you need to email it to [email protected]. It needs to have a light background at the top to allow for the navigation bar and needs to be at least 1980px wide (HD).

I've updated the version that you can download from flightsim.com to YBSU for myself. You need ADE or similar to do this. You need to do two things 1) open the stock YBMC and deleted all objects and recompile. Then 2) edit the new one to be YBSU. Both files need to be in the scenery add on. You will still find YBMC in the list of scenery but you can then disregard it.

Hey Brad. It's best to open a ticket here: https://membership.vatsim.net

So in your case, the VTC will help. Sydney Approach, or Melbourne Centre will cover your flight. Though unless Bankstown Tower, Camden Tower or Richmond Tower are online you would be landing in class G. Obviously you would know where the class C steps are if your about to head off on an IFR flight test. Beyond the R494 boundary after going through Richmond the Sydney TMA stops and you would need Melbourne Centre after that.
People are pretty responsive to request for ATC. If you made a post about when you wanted to do this, there might be someone around!

Hello,
Thank you to Eoin and Ryan for finding a duplicate frequency with YMMM_FSS and ML-GEL_CTR. On reviewing the POF and real world charts, ML-GEL_CTR will use the frequency 121.200. The above post have been amended.

Further to Greg's advice. Any issues that need to be addressed should be forwarded to the VATSIM supervisors in the first instances i.e. If someone is using restricted airspace when they shouldn't. If you have any specific questions you can always email [email protected]

In brief, the differences between the ILS are minor, but can be described as:
ILS-Z uses references to the ILS frequency to measure your distance from the runway.
ILS-Y uses references to the ML VOR for distances.
ILS-X is for use when conducting a CAT II or III approach. Essentially a CAT III approach is used for full auto land on aircraft. Hence why the runway visual range is on 75 ft for the IIIb.
If you were a prudent pilot you would have your Nav radio tuned to either the ILS or the VOR and be monitoring your progress of distance and elevation while on your approach; and depending what your tuned to will depend on what chat you need to use.

Hey Howard,
Have a read of this post. It's a little crude but it does its job. http://forums.vatpac.org/index.php/topic,17747.0.html

That would be me. Was there a concern where someone didn't stick to the roster?
-
Yeh Zach has been making some improvements also, the plan is that all internal policy and procedure documents will use the black and white logo, similar to ASA. Other documents like marketing and corporate stuff will use the colour logo.
-
MRM is advertised to US longitude it would possibly encourage long haul pilots to fly into Sydney and MRM might see some heavies in the mix? Just a thought.
-
How about C6
-
Why was a supervisor not called to have him removed from the server. This is the process to be followed when someone is acting outside the code of conduct??
-
Hi all,
Please see attached the roster as gratefully put together by Greg. We still require an Oceanic Controller for 0400-0900Z.
If you can do this please email [email protected] as soon as possible.
Regards
Joel

I have also been very interested in getting the pacific islands buzzing and want to do more flying out that way. I'm hoping that some of our events might be out in the islands next year.

I will comment on the regional positions. I have currently appointed 2 people directly, and will make one further direct appointment. This is to fill what I consider significant positions in order to lay the ground work. There MAY be another 8 positions filled through the open recruitment process that you are familiar with. But lots of work to be done before we get to that point.
