  1. At some airports, it's a little hard to tell the difference between the taxiways and the apron area, since they are the same color after all...

I had a look at the INTAS screen for ground radar at Melbourne and they have a separate color for the apron.

Think it's something we should add or forget about it?

P.s. I've been looking into re-doing all the taxiway maps for the controller airports anyway since some are a little outdated and having charts up for airports without the taxiway markings is a bit of a pain.

  2. Hi all,

I'm currently taking feature requests and ideas for the next version of the VATPAC EuroScope package. At the moment for the AIRAC 1703 update, we have:

    • Profiles for all Australian controller positions
    • Re-organized profiles (Divided into categories such as Class C, Metro, Procedural, Enroute, etc.)
    • ATIS file for manually recorded ATIS

There are still some features being looked into such as selecting your sound devices and push to talk keys within the installation process.

    Any requests?

  3. Request:

A "copy" button to copy the contents of the ATC Assist ATIS to the local clipboard.

Been working on it for months, none of the available solutions seem to be working...

    (Though still working on it)

  4. Very funny Tracy, Eoin set you up for that one. Haha

Like walking into a glass door  :-X

Yeah, still works (I think). I did it with a tool called Winebottler though, not this method.

How well does that work? Do all the data files still work and the audio stuff?

  5. Is it just me or is it taking an absolute age to load? Been waiting 20 mins for it to load and only gotten this far:

Edit: It wont go any further than the attached image and re-selecting the position and refreshing wont do anything...

  6. A second runway means I'm only going to see half the traffic from Acacia St.

I hope that Airbus Rd is going to be public......

That being said, I can get twice as close to the undershoot on 19R as 19L by boat...

Now we get aircraft crossing to the other runway like twice as close

  7. Eoin,

Where is the option to "Manually search for your ICAO"?

It will appear if vStrips can't find your callsign or can't find the airport you're controlling. Sometimes it will find "SY" and think you are controlling "SY", rather than "YSSY".

If you go to Documents\vStrips\vStripsConfig.xml, you can add these to the "<AirfieldAliases>" section to allow our callsigns to work properly.

The formatting should be self-explanatory ;).

  8. During busy events like milk runs, three coord rooms aren't always enough. Why not have good rooms split into TMA's, then further split into the airfields within the TMA's?

    Eg:

    SY TMA:

--TMA controllers in the main channel--

    SY Aerodrome

    BK Aerodrome

    CN Aerodrome

    RIC Aerodrome

And so on for the other TMA's, maybe one room for the RAAF ATC.

Maybe for en route controllers, one for each FIR?, so a YBBB and YMMM coord channel.

Would be helpful when we have ML-WOL, SY_APP and SY_TWR all in the same room trying to coord with people and stepping over each other. Would also encourage people to join the respective coord channel rather than just any of the three.

    Thoughts?

  9. F3 + Click on aircraft?

    Does that work Dan?

That assumes the tag, Peter's .est thing doesn't work because the points in the flight plan don't exist due to the dateline. The ETA for the points confuses EuroScope so it doesn't process the points. Using "Easy VATSIM" will fix it but it breaks all radar coverage and makes Oceanic pointless since all the tags will already be correlated.

From what Jake said on the TAAATS foture forum, this wont be an issue with vTAAATS (Or whatever it's name is  )

How did we get from MRM to ES dateline problems?

  10. I had this issue during world flight while on ML-BKE_CTR and I've just noticed it happen again today on BN-ISA_CTR.

I've heard someone else having the issue but I can't remember who it was.

Whenever someone presses their push to talk, I get a loud buzzing noise and then their transmission. This is for all aircraft that transmit on frequency, but only I can hear it...

The issue appears randomly and lasts usually throughout the whole session, sometimes the whole day. The buzzing will sound just before someone speaks on the frequency.

    Any ideas???

  11. Of course, i'm the one to point this out  ;)

I've been seeing some controllers put up ATISs saying "Advise on initial contact you have xxx". This is not the correct way to end an ATIS. ATISs should be closed with "on first contact with xxx ground or approach, notify receipt of xxx"

  12. You should also liaise with Joel Richters who is responsible for local controller client specification if you are looking to obtain any official support from VATPAC/VATSIM.

I might be wrong but this looks like a VATNZ deal.

    More than correct  ;D

  13. Also agree with Trent.

With Aussie online; ATC is drawn mainly by traffic, and traffic is also drawn by ATC. So it's a tricky balancing act, if we advertise it the right way, some people might actually notice there's an event and participate. More flight's, more fun for ATC, therefore more staffing  :-\

  14. If you get in touch with Kieran Hardern, he should be able to connect you with George Marinakis who will be able to sort you out with the NDA. Provided you are happy with the terms, the process is fairly straight forward, just need to execute the deed with any witness and mail it back to the USA.

As you rightly suggest, getting the basic user interface is the easy part... now for the hard bit! Good luck! :)

Thank's David! I emailed Kieran three times since last year and still have gotten no reply from him. Might wanna find another way in then
