  1. What a great idea Luke. Hell i wish you were offering that service when i first came on board as a pilot as it really is scary having your first couple of flights. Keep up the good work.

  2. Colmslie reserve sound great to me. I am at Regents Park on the south side and traveling is not a problem for me. Not to sure just where that is but i will take a look on the map. Sounds like quite a few are interested and a BBQ is a great idea.

I would prefer sometime in early May. Col.

  3. Hi guys. I posted this message on the forum the other night not knowing someone had already had thoughts of a get together for us Brissy people. Anyway count me in and also i am happy to help with anything that need doing. Regards. Col Williams

This is just a thought and feedback would determine weather it is worth perusing it or not.

I would like to organise a get together say at the viewing area of Brisbane Airport maybe on a Sunday morning sometime soon. I feel it would be great to be able to meet other fellow pilots and Air Traffic Controllers in person for a chat, a coffee and a look at the Aircraft flying in and out of Brisbane. If you like the idea please let me know and if you have any suggestions or ideas please feel free to make a comment. If there is enough interest I am quite happy to discuss a date with you all and set something up.

  5. Can anyone tell me how to change frequency quickly using SB3.

When you are on final and told to change to the Tower frequency is there a way to do this without having to manually tune the aircraft radios. It was so easy to switch frequencies using SB2 as the was an option to bring up all the ATC frequencies that were working at the time and one only had to click on the one that was wanted. When you are on final and only 10 klm out it is quite hard to set up a perfect landing and tune the radios at the same time. I hope i have explained things right.

I have only had one flight using SB3 and it look to me like it is everything it was promised to be.

  6. Can someone give me a clue on just how you keep all the Sid & Stars up to date.

Last night I was flying online from YSSY to YMML and was asked by ATC to do a Narel Two approach and I could not find it listed in my FSNav program at all.

I found a Narel One Star on an old chart I have but was told I should update my listings. I did this as I have done many times by downloading the latest listings from NavData and re run the FSNavDBC program again but as before there was no Narel Two Star listed at all. This has happened many times to me and maybe someone can tell me how they keep all the latest changes up to date or where else I should go to get the complete FSNav updates.

May I also take time to thank all you ATC guys that sit there all night waiting for us pilots to show up at your chosen airport. Flying online without you seems rather boring and fruitless. Keep up the good work. Col Williams. YM123

  7. Hi all. I am thinking of getting myself a flight yoke to make my flying more realistic and wonder if anyone else out there uses one and if so do you have any tips on what I should buy and at what price I will have to pay. I live in Brisbane and have looked at a number of shops without any luck at all. I would appreciate if you know just where I need to go to be able to purchase one. Any info is much appreciated.

    Regards. Col Williams

  8. Can those who havent signed up for the ATC Challenge still go online tonight and fly to any airport or should we stay offline to let the event go through without any interuptions.

I didnt sign up as i was not too sure if i could be online at the time required.

  9. I am using FS2002 and when i run AVC it i am having problems. I can set it

all up ok but when i run it with FS2002 the speech out just wont happen.

Also i have had to go back to using Roger Wilco but since AVC is being used

more and more by ATC i am constantly having problems with ATC hearing me.

I get it all working ok and half way through a approach i can still hear

ATC but they cant hear me. If i shut down RW and start it again it works

for a little while and then does the same thing again. Has anyone else had

this problem since ATC started using AVC.

  10. I have been a very keen Flightsim buff for many years in fact as far back as FS95 and have also spent many hours creating scenery mainly for New Zealand. I got involved in online flying only four months ago and i am still very much a newbie at it but i would like to say a big thank you to all those ATC Guys and Girls who sit there for hours just so our flights are as realistic as possible. Apart from one small hiccup at the start and that was most likely my fault can say all the ATC i have come across are nothing more than very polite and will help whenever it is needed. Keep up the great work and i hope to catch you online soon. Regards. Col Williams. AN146
