1. Hang On. I Understand that this is talking about AYPM_CTR Extending to BN-ARA_CTR, but now im getting mixed messages.

I know Brisbane CTR (MDE, ISA ETC.) Can extend down into Melbourne CTR (WOL, BKE ETC.)

I'm just checking (Which I'm Sure The Answer Is No)

YMMM_FSS cannot extend YBBB_FSS and vice versa?

Even though this is written somewhere (Which I cannot find), I'm not sure because of what Greg has said above, so im just looking for clarification

  2. I agree with Daniel, i connected on Ground thinking we would get no Traffic ;D

Overall, it was alot of fun, i definitely didn't get everything right on ground, but you learn by your mistakes :)

Thanks all for the Traffic Levels, 8 On the ground at once :-X :-X :-X

  3. Hello, Dave.

I have some experience controlling in a few different locations.

    United Arab Emirates ARTCC

    VATSIM ASIA (Indonesia)

I am also working on a few different locations.

    Luxenburg ARTCC

    Hong Kong ARTCC

    Shanwick Oceanic :) (Almost Endorsed)

All of these ARTCC's/Divisions all have their own requirements, all of the members are extremely polite, and i myself am yet to come across any issues.

Being a VC for other parts of the world is amazing, which provides you with a different viewing experience to how VATPAC runs all its operations :)

  4. 50/50

VATPAC is extremely privileged in the amount of work that the Operations Department has done for all controllers, I myself do enjoy a laugh, some people have the ability to get me laughing even when there are 15 people of my frequency, however, I myself do enjoy (Attempting) to simulate real world procedures when I can. They are both equal in my books.

  5. I would have to agree with you Ryan. Last Night was by far the best SMRM Event I have ever controlled. I believe I had 15 People on my frequency at one stage. 10 of which were on their way to CG.

Overall (According to VATSIM's Stats) I saw 127 Aircraft over the 3 Hour Period, However, I do believe I only controlled roughly 50-60 people throughout the entire evening.

Massive thanks for everyone flying. Was great to see a majority of people not flying MEL-SYD or vise versa.

  6. Hey All, I would just like to take a moment to thank one of VATPAC's Staff Members (Director of IT: Zach Biesse-Fitton)

From what I can see the VATPAC Website has changed drastically over the past few days and looks amazing, I have also noticed that the problem with the Event Dates seems to be fixed.

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication for all us members, everything you do will always be hated by someone but there is always that broader community that absolutely loves what you do.

Thank you once again for all your hard efforts! they definitely don't go unnoticed.

  7. Thanks for this Trent. Always love to see this type of info.

I should be online tonight covering a position that is avalible. Hopefully DOS if no one takes it :)

On that note some of those airports are CTAF, which means pilots are not exactly going to get a (Top Down Service) like most Milk Runs Generally Have,

Pilots are expected to do the following (And Correct Me If Im Wrong Guys)

    1. report on the ground for TFC and Squawk Code.

unlike traditional ATC Services you are not going to be told where to go, instead you are going to be advised about the known IFR Traffic on the Ground.

    Example: (Calling the Controller)

Pilot: "HTU taxis Runway 30 at Sunshine Coast, Request Traffic and Squawk, PDT"

Controller: "HTU No reported IFR Traffic, Squawk XXXX," or "HTU Traffic is (Bla Bla), Squawk XXXX."

    Pilot: "Squawk XXXX, HTU"

    2. Departure Report.

Departure reports are conducted after you have departed and are to notify the controller you have successfully departed and gives the controller general infomation about your whereabouts.

    Example (Departure Report)

Pilot: "HTU Departed Sunshine Coast at time (0000), currently on climb through 1000, heading 100.

    Controller: "HTU"

The controller will then wait until a radar return is present, which could take some time.

    Controller: "HTU, verify Level"

    Pilot: "Passing 3500ft, HTU"

Controller: "HTU Identified (Followed by clearance)"

This is (to my knowledge) what happens in class G, if anyone can see something i have wrong, let me know. I would love to know!

  8. ARRS AND DEPS don't need to be mentioned, if its Runway 25 for both arrs and deps, then there is no reason to specify what it is being used for in the atis, so it should be. "To My Knowledge"

I'm not exactly sure whether to add or take away the "INDEP DEPS IN PROG" part as it's only a single parallel runway that does run Independent on its own anyway, however because I for 1, don't actually live in Sydney and 2 I never thought of RWY 25 being classified as an Independent runway in the ATIS, I have gone with what I would have done on the network and put it below.

YSSY TERMINAL INFO V EXP ILS APCH RWY 25

  9. Hey, Scottie.

As Joel said, most VATPAC controllers are quick to reply almost every time someone asks them to come online.

When are you planning to do this test flight, I'm sure I can jump on Sydney Approach or Melbourne Center to assist you with my limited knowledge

  10. Hello, Everyone.

Normally I go around asking selective people individually about requests such as this but I have seen just how quickly the VATPAC community replies to almost any given post.

If anyone is available from 0100z-0300z on Saturday the 25th of March, it would be much appreciated if I can get at least one CTR online as well as ML, SY TWR.

    Info:

I'm doing my P2 Checkride during that time and it requires the area to be staffed by a tower at the (Arrival/Departure) Aerodromes as well as a CTR position between the two.

If I could get the following positions online between 0100z and 0300z it would be much appreciated.

    ML_TWR: 120.500

    ML-SNO_CTR: 124.000

    SY_TWR: 120.500

I understand that it is your weekend, I will personally be thanking every single person who comes online.

Im sure there will be traffic anyway, it is a Saturday after all ::)

I Stuffed up the time, it is actually the 1st of April between 0100z and 0300z, hope some people can still come online.

Sorry about the late notice, I forgot to re-post it on the forums.
