BTW, Check out the WORST & SCARIEST Xwind landing attemp/technique I have see in all my years involved in flying!
See it at .... 3:38 secs. Absolutely no attempt to straighten the aircraft depspite choosing to continue the landing and putting it on the deck!

CRM (Cockpit Resource Management).
When I was studying hard for my Commercial Pilots Licence in the early eighties, the buzz words in multi-crew operations were "Cockpit Resource Management".
A film then came out in America called "The Wrong Stuff". It showed that pilots returning from WWII, Vietnam and Korea, were looking to remain in aviation and continue their flying careers.
Unfortunately, it was found that when these combat pilots were placed in a multi-crew environment, such as an airliner, they felt they they themselves were responsible for the safety of the entire flight and, if anything went wrong, they would have to rectify the problem on their own (as they had done in single seat fighters).
Therefore, initially being dubbed "The Right Stuff" by the military, soon became known as "The Wrong Stuff" in civil aviation circles.
If you ever come across the entire movie please let others know as it is a brilliant training tool for up and coming pilots to see where CRM came from.
A small part of "The Wrong Stuff" I found on You Tube...

Sorry Guys, I was completely joking, didn't think it would be taken seriously! Oooops:o
Will put brain in gear before doing that again!
BTW, I have used G'day my whole aviation life, that's why I made the joke, Sorry.
Sincere apologies for confusion,
Daryl

LOL, "Fun Cops Alert", thanks for the heads up Kirk.
Daryl
-
Ummm... Ahhhh...I know, they're all wrong!
I would never use such non-approved terminology as "G'day", which is not representative of the International Civil Aviation Organisation's phraseology stipulations as lawfully credited by the Standard ICAO Phraseology Guide.
Is that the answer you were looking for? Or am I way off track??

Kirk,
Appreciate your input and technical knowledge here. This is stuff I have never thought about and was very interested to learn.
Thanks again,
Daryl

Any one that's pushed aircraft before knows straight away when they go to start the push with one engine going, how much force is acting against the Tug.
Really? (having never pushed a plane before), I didn't know that the engines at idle made that much noticeable difference, thanks Kirk!

May put a few people out of work???

Good point John! Jeez you controllers think of everything!!
Daryl

Thanks for the thought John but, my present training at work is at a critical point from now till February 2013 and I don't want to commit to any outside projects till I pass all my exams (Paramedical Science).
Maybe next time.
Cheers

Brilliant story James, but for next time.... hit the bloody thing! (Better than stalling at low level mate, especially if it's a chieftan with 10 PAX on board)!
The great thing about aviation is every time you nearly kill yourself you tend to learn alot! I think that's demonstrated well here.
BTW, Congrats on getting to your level of flight training and I wish you all the best on your future training.
Cheers
Daryl (ATPL and survivor of many similar stories).

Once I couldn't spell pilot but, now I are one! Does that help?
John, getting the troops involved in some RL aviation testing and help them understand the importance of university education to the pilot of the future, PRICELESS.
Great Job mate and thanks for thinking of VATPAC in such an important study!
Keep it up Keechy.
