To show students what it was like to find information in the olden days....you remember the olden days, right? You must have been, what, 55-ish at the time?
You don't realise how close that is to the truth...

Nick, you could probably buy a few of those thanks to your poker winnings, investments in Woolies and franking credits.
And then some...

The coarseness of the ground textures in the last video (03:45 & 04:45) bothers me.
Is that a windup Richard...lol

Not getting too excited until I find out how many ways Microsoft is going to try and screw me. What MS programs are we going to be forced to use, what data they are going to collect etc etc.
Before i get shouted down ...as the politicians say.." i would like to apologise to the member of Mackee"...for my insidious remarks...they weren't meant to be in any way personal. Just need to see the "bigger picture"...

None of this answers the question, when will Microsoft be realising it. Does anyone know!

Just to let you all in on a secret....we get screwed in everything we do ..from the government screwing us on fuel excise, to mongrels like Coles & Woolworths (not so much Woolies because i'm a shareholder..lol) to paying exorbitant prices on local Council rates just so some rubbish truck can come around every week to pick up your rubbish & even if you were to take your rubbish to the tip you still have to pay. We get screwed by every major business multinational by the likes of Cadburys who charge $9.50 for a block of "chocolate" when all it is is mostly emulsified fats, very diluted milk, about 2% of cacao (which is the expensive stuff and "other" constituents..this shit should at best be $2 a block...mind you i refuse to eat the shit but that's another matter. We in Australia have one of the highest costs of energy expenses in the world ..https://www.afr.com/politics/australian-households-pay-highest-power-prices-in-world-20170804-gxp58a ...and this is the "lucky country" ..we have one of the richest oil & gas reserves in the world & we're paying through the nose. If you were to look at how much we're getting ripped off it would amount to thousands of dollars & here we are complaining if Microsoft FS is going to "rip us off" for $100 ..$200....it's just a piss in the ocean compared to what we're getting ripped off in general.

Hey Nick, figuring out the values inside a graph that aren't given is not called extrapolation - It's interpolation.
Extrapolating would be trying to figure out the time and fuel to climb to 14,000 feet (outside the graph, which only goes to 12,000 feet).
Nice video, made it a little more complicated than it probably needed to be - for short range stuff it's easy enough to use a conservative estimate - like 1L per 1000ft of climb, plus 40L per hour at cruise, plus 10L for ground ops. Plus fixed reserve (good old CAAP 234).
Yeah Bill was actually thinking as i was talking that it was interpolation...there's another mistake in there as well...i'll keep it a secret..

Thank you to everyone for your overwhelming response. This was an opportunity for you young guys out there to get a grasp of the more realistic process of obtaining your pilot's licence. I was prepared to devote a lot of time however obviously no one was prepared to do any hard work. Thank you in saving my time. I'll be devoting most of my time now to poker. Cheers
