OK Tom...cool vid....to what ends does it mean to get vatsim pilot ratings?...because personally i don't rate many of them...i would start off joining Vatpac discord where i can talk to you personally to get you in the right direction. Whatever you do don't start flying jets because that is the road to learning nothing...it just means you can push a few buttons & engage the autopilot. I don't know if you have heard that a new flight sim platform coming out in August called Flight Simulator 2020?...unfortunately it works only in Windows & not on the Mac. I would try personally to get that because it promises to give real world scenery. I would start off like they do in the real world. Understand VFR charts & how to fly VFR whether by dead reckoning or pilotage. By the way learn how do circuits first in plane like C172. As you progress into IFR you then start learning how to do various approaches like VOR, RNAV & ILS etc. Then from their its learning how to handle twin engine planes & once you have a good handle on that then you can migrate to jets. I know that most young guys jump straight into jets however they don't know what a terrible disservice they have done to themselves. It's a long path that you are embarking on but it's highly rewarding. But then again flight simulation is what you want out of it.

Hi Chris...appreciate the feedback...flightaware only gives real life flight plans...so in this case re YMHB-YPAD there are no flights in real life that fly that particular route...good source is skyvector

Hi Brandon,
If you want to learn how to fly a C172 go to this site...he knows his stuff...https://www.youtube.com/user/countryflyboy/search?query=c172. By the way if you have the money don't fly the default ....buy C172 from a company called A2A simulations....https://a2asimulations.com/.......HOWEVER...if you are prepared to wait i would wait till FS2020 comes out...

G'Day one & sundry,
Today, i am excited to be announcing that with the release of FS2020 i will be attempting to fly around Australia. I know a certain bugler/trumpeter is already doing this BUT i will be doing it better. HOW/WHY??. Because i'll be flying as per real world weather therefore incorporating all different types of approach procedures and flying as per airspace regulations AND RULES. So buckle up one and all it's your opportunity to learn real world procedures (radio calls, correct entry points via VRP's (if you don't know what that is then be prepared) ...the whole gambit....AND BECAUSE IT IS FS2020 i'll take you over all the great scenery spots (weather permitting) like pink lake near Esperance ...Bungle, Bungle...and you don't even have to pay me BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE PATREON...unlike someone else i know...

Hi Nick,
This is because the aircraft departed way ahead of it's flight planned departure time and the flight plan track has fallen too far behind. Try...
.est [callsign] [fix] [time] enter
So in your picture JST560 is actually up near Mudge somewhere so it would be...
.est JST560 MUDGI 0610z enter
Just pick a realistic estimated time for the waypoint and the track should correlate to the radar paint. The waypoint has to be in the flight plan.
There's also a way to do this with a series of middle clicks on the flight plan track and the radar paint but I'd have to open up euroscope to work out what it is.
tried this Greg...doesn't work...nothing happens when i hit enter
