Andrew C - 812404 Posted July 14, 2009 Share Posted July 14, 2009 Overview Many of you will be aware of yesterday's announcement by VATSIM regarding a change to the Global Rating Policy (GRP). In short, the GRP change introduces an additional rating level of 'S2 - Tower'. The sequence of basic ATC ratings is now as follows: S1 - Clearance Delivery/Ground S2 - Tower S3 - Approach C1 - Enroute/Centre VATPAC Implementation There is essentially no change to VATPAC operations. VATPAC will continue to train and assess the combined Clearance Delivery/Ground and Tower competencies as part of the initial rating. Students who successfully complete the assessment will be awarded a Tower rating. Existing tower controllers will be upgraded to the new 'S2' level over the next thirty days. Once you receive confirmation of your upgrade, you must connect to the VATSIM network using the new 'S2' rating.
