The World Flight ATC unit located onsite at World Flight Australia headquarters has recently undergone major upgrade - namely the installation of three replica TAAATS consoles: http://www.vatpac.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5744&highlight=world+flight From the ATC office, we will be providing the 4 fixed base simulators and coutless tag-along flyers with continual 24/7 ATC services. The ATC fitout includes: 3 TAAATS simulators incorporating: Large LCD display Full global paper overhead enroute charts Touch screen VSCS Supplementary electronic Jeppesen global terminal charts with simulator overlay on side screen Dedicated voice ATIS server that flights will tune for verbally recorded ATIS We are seeking volunteers to come and do ATC shifts at the Centre at WF HQ. Doing ATC at the WF ATC Centre will bring you as close to real world ATC environment as possible. It will be an extremely enjoyable and challenging experience and full support will be provided by experienced VATPAC Mentors and Instructors oh hand at the Centre. ATC candidates should: Have at least a SENIOR STUDENT rating (see note) Be willing to make a fully receipted and tax deductable nominal donation to the RFDS WF Appeal NOTE: If you currently hold a STUDENT rating and are sufficiently experienced to progress to SENIOR STUDENT, we are prepared to fast track you for SENIOR STUDENT assessment prior to World Flight.
