VATPAC is currently seeking applications from suitable members for the position of World Discovery Flight Coordinator

 

Role Description:

 

The World Discovery Flight Coordinator is a key position within the VATPAC Events Team and is responsible for ensuring that World Discovery Flights are appropriately planned and supported, as well as playing an active role in encouraging participation from pilots and ATC. The role works closely with the VFR Coordinator.

 

The World Discovery Flight Coordinator is expected to:

 

  • Plan World Discovery Flights
  • Keep the VATPAC Calendar updated with WDF event information
  • Keep the associated WDF web pages updates with event information
  • Prepare and publish flight plans for WDF flights
  • Work within the VATPAC Events Team on joint events where required
  • Other occasional event related duties as deemed appropriate by the Director or Deputy Director of Events and Communications

 

The role reports to the Director of Events and Communications

The role is a VATPAC Staff role

 

Time Commitment:

It is estimated that the minimum time commitment would be in the vicinity of three hours per week.

The successful candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Have an in depth understanding of VATPAC's World Discovery Flights
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Possess a working knowledge of how to prepare appropriate flight plans
  • Possess a working knowledge of working with HTML pages
  • Be at least 18 years of age at time of application
  • Be a member in good standing of VATPAC
  • Be in good standing with VATSIM

 

Training:

Full training will be provided to the successful applicant

  • What skills and/or experience that you believe that you will be able to bring in order to improve the overall VATPAC community
  • A statement outlying how you meet wach of the above minimum requirements of the role
  • Some thoughts on what you will do if you are successful in gaining the position

Applications close on Sunday 08 March, 2015 at 1700 AEDT.

 

Applications will be received and reviewed by an Appointment Committee consisting of:

1. The VATPAC Director of Events and Communications

2. The VATPAC Deputy Director of Events

3. The Outgoing role holder

4. A General Member

 

Applications will remain in confidence to the VATPAC Board and the appointments committee. As always the VATPAC Board reserves the right to directly appoint an individual to the role.
