Position Description

Deputy Regional Director VATSIM Oceania – VATOCE2

 

Responsible to: Regional Director

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. [*]Strategic growth of the Region

[*]Working with Divisions within the Region and other Divisions on the VATSIM Network to promote activities within the Region

[*]Coordinate the Pacific Oceanic Partnership and develop events that promotes the activities of this partnership

[*]Support the Pilot Training Scheme within the Region

[*]Work with the Regional Membership Director to identify and address member needs and to grow the membership

[*]Spend at least four hours per month logged onto the VATSIM.net network under the callsign VATOCE2 which clearly indicates that he or she is the Deputy Regional Director and should be open to answering questions from the members

[*]Enhance and grow partnerships with Virtual Airlines based in the Region

[*]Assist in maintaining the Region's website and social media sites

[*]Assist the Region Director with duties consistent with the above duties and responsibilities

[*]Act for the Region Director in their absence

 

Key Selection Criteria:

• Mandatory
  
  • Be a member of the VATSIM Oceania Region at the time of the application
    
  • Minimum Controller 1 (Enroute Controller) rating
    
  • At least two years experience in VATSIM.net network management at a Division Level, although relevant real world experience will be considered
    
  • Strong people leader, developer and team builder with excellent written and verbal communication and well-honed influencing and negotiating skills
    
  • Minimum of 150 hours online on the VATSIM Network in the six months prior to applying (as established from http://stats.vatsim.net)
    
  • No recorded breaches of the VATSIM Code of Conduct on their VATSIM record

  • Completion of one of more pilot ratings
    
  • Knowledge of a Content Management System
