Shannon W - 811815 Posted December 5, 2010 Share Posted December 5, 2010 VATPAC is currently seeking applications from members for the position of Director of Events and Communications - VATPAC5 The Events & Communications Director is responsible for co-ordinating and promoting online activities. This includes monitoring and reporting on participation, so that trends can be identified and responded to. The Events & Communications Director is also responsible for maintaining an up to date and dynamic events program that meets the needs and expectations of members. The Events & Communications Director is responsible for ensuring members receive appropriate communication from VATPAC, ensuring that VATPAC promotes itself in such a way that people want to come online, more often. Responsibilities: Co-ordinate and promote online activities. Monitor and report on event participation levels. Communicate with members using appropriate tools to ensure that members are made aware of events. Communication can include, but is not limited to, the VATPAC Forums, VATPAC Teamspeak channels, VATSIM NOTAM, Facebook and other media such as periodical newsletters Communicate with other directors regarding upcoming events, allowing appropriate lead-up time in order to ensure that resources can be made available. Liaison duties include but are not limited to: Liaising with and providing requirements to the ATC Director to allow sufficient time to request and roster ATC. Liaising with IT Director to request website changes / new website construction. Liaising with Pilot Services Director regarding related pilot training requirements. Lead a team of people to assist with running events Maintain the events policy and amend if necessary to meet the changing needs of membership and/or VATPAC Respond to queries from membership pertaining to events Liaise with VATSIM and/or other divisions when necessary Monitor the [email protected] email address Monitor the VATPAC Teamspeak channels, or other forms of media which helps VATPAC communicate with its membership. Assist in administering the VATPAC Facebook / Twitter / youTube accounts Maintain the content of events pages on the VATPAC website Contribute to discussions on Staff forums and attend staff meetings as required Time Commitment The estimated time commitment associated with this role is approximately 10 hours per week. It is an expectation of this role that you have (and will continue to maintain during your tenure) regular access to email and are able to visit the VATPAC Forums frequently enough to ensure the smooth running of the Events/Communications Department Requirements of role The successful candidate will meet the following minimum requirements: Have an in depth understanding of VATPAC/VATSIM issues Be experienced in the involvement of clubs, groups or online organisations Posses very strong communication skills Be a member of VATPAC Be in good standing with VATSIM Application Instructions Applications should be sent via email to [email protected] before Sunday 12th December, 2010 2359 AEDT. The outgoing Events Director 2. A Director of the VATPAC Board or in leiu a VATPAC Founder 3. A General Member and will remain in confidence to the VATPAC Board and the appointments committee.
