Should be fun, count me in.

Hi Nadir, welcome! The website is normally self-explanatory and very helpful, but it is undergoing maintenance.
Sen an email to [email protected] for details on how to get your started on the way to virtual ATC
You need to log in as an observer and need a few hours observing before you can go for a Tower rating.
You just need your VATSIM ID and the controller software to get started.
Cheers!

For those having problems with Vatspy...try Dolomynum...
It is very good and easy to use!

Thanks Greg! Gave them a test last night, they work great! It is fantastic to have Euroscope automatically assign SIDs when the flight plan has been filed in the approved Waypoint Airway format!
Have also managed to get .wav files for Euroscope automated ATIS, I have them for Bn, Sy, Ml and Cb...so if anybody wants them, let me know.
Cheers,
W.

Hi guys, for the sake of Uniformity, those who use Euroscope, is there a "standard" ESE file for airports in Oz detailing the Sids and Stars?
There is a function to modify the settings in Euroscope and allow for automated SID/STAR allocation, depending on runway chosen.
Just wanted to know if someone had prepared this file for Australia already?
Thanks

Can we expand on this? If they have made contact with a radar controller, can we therefore conclude that their altitude has been verified? Radar id'ing an aircraft does not necessarily mean their altitude has been verified.
Thanks

Better still, try any of the online ones:

http://www.luizmonteiro.com/Wind.aspx
Or PM me and I will send you one that I used ages ago, in Excel format, but it is pretty good!

Thanks for clarifying Andrew, Wol9 it is then!

Hi all,
The SY TMA supplement advises that jets southbound off 34L should be given the 34R Marub3 SID unless operationally required, but I find most people just give out the WOL9 SID off 34L....is the SY TMA supplement superseeded?
What is the correct procedure?
Thanks in advance

It was a great event for us until some clown decided to put his 737 right behind our aircraft and he followed us everywhere in formation at 1nm behind or less....we did a missed approach in Sydney (unstable approach) and the 737 still followed us until he gave up when we started our second approach...our TCAS was going berserk for a good 10 minutes!

Yes, we havent had the chance to give it a test yet, but we will try FSINN.
The Maddog 2008Pro has its own Multiplayer connection protocol, which allows EVERY single switch and circuit breaker in the cockpit to be useful and shared in real time.
If we connect Multiplayer via SB4 or even FSINN, it will not work. So the idea is...we connect to a Multiplayer session using MADDOG, then the pilot flying the next leg logs a flight plan and logs into Vatsim using FSINN, and the Pilot Not Flying logs into Vatsim as an observer...that's the plan anyway, hope we can try it out this week!

Is there a way to ban their Vatsim ID for 2 weeks for violation of Virtual AT Rules? If you put a deterrent in place, it should help.
Nothing stops pilots in the real world like the threat of an ESIR!

Thanks guys, will give FSINN a go...although it doesn't look as fast to use as SB4!
Cheers,
W.

A good friend and I have just purchased the Maddog 2008 Pro....although I already have the PMDG MD11 and 747, I think the Maddog is simply the most detailed and realistic simulation ever made for FS9 or FSX...it is simply superb!
We are willing to try our hand and log into VATPAC for a flight using the shared cockpit facility which is in-built on this aeroplane...we have flown coop outside of VATSIM without a problem (this is also one of 2 aeroplanes made for shared cockpit...everything works!).
My question is...if we log together into shared cockpit and one of us then logs into VATSIM (filing a flight plan, etc)....does the other person need to log as an Observer?
If the PNF logs in as observer, will the controller see 2 people in the scope?
Is there a proper way of doing this?
Thanks in advance

Arjun, if your vector lines are in minutes, you can work on about 4.5 or 5nm per minute on descent safely. In the words of the legendary "WOK" (old instructor in YMML)....work your sequence early and make it work....mind you, he told me this as he asked to make a Dash8 number one with a B747 number 2 only 8nm behind!!
If things get tight, you have a few simple things up your sleeve...you could turn the 738 direct HINDS after the Bus started his turn, ask the A333 for his speed on descent and tell the 738 not to go above that.
It is a little too restrictive, but useful if you can't keep a close eye on them.
Also remember, if you have over 30degrees between tracks, pointing one aircraft with just over 5nm separation on a heading directly at the other will give you a quick sequence of around 7-8nm trail without much work.
