[Panic Stations - Melbourne]

Hi all,

Well what a great event. Well done to the organisers and participants. This was my first involvement in PANIC stations and I was thrown into the fire with ML APPROACH. I can say that it really was a lot of fun and certainly very intense from an ATC perspective. There was HEAPS of traffic coming from 3 CTR sectors. This involves a great team effort from everyone. I would have taken a screen capture but it was rather busy!

Hi all,

I was on ML_APP tonight with Beau flying his C172 from YMMB to Melb city. He entered the CTA and was given a clearance. Is it necessary to assign a non VFR squawk code?

Hi all,

I'm happy to help out tonight some time after 8pm AEDST. What would help me is to have the roster up so we can see what positions and what times are not filled. I'm new to this event so I dont even know if there are 2 or 3 hour controller blocks? Having a roster up woudl mean I coudl then dedicate some time to being in the right place at the right time. Maybe in future a few days before the event the roster can be posted and controlelrs based at home can sign up at that time to ensure slots are filled and we have committed for blocks of time. Looking forward to the weekend!
