Hi all,
Does anyone know if it is possible in Euroscope to display the waypoints along a given route when selecting to show the aircrafts route. For example aircraft flight plans has H66 but you want to display the route and the waypoints along the H66?
Thanks all

Hi all,
Yes good places to start. Obviously the solution will be based on how complex you want to go. I have a variety of different vendors products in my full B737 sim. I have a Leo Bodnar joystick card that allows to to attach 8 analog axes , 32 buttons, and a hat switch. Great for linking to FSX because it recognises the card as a joystick and then you can easily assign the buttons to functions in FSX.
http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67&products_id=180
There is also opencockpits which provide hardware solutions that can be scaled. They integrate with Prosim737 and FSX/Prepard3d.

Hey Robert,
Also dont forget the steps before this. The takeoff thrust will be calculated based on your takeoff weight. If this isnt set properly in the FMC the calculated thrust may be more than you need for the actual weight of the aircraft. Of course it can also provide less thrust than you need if your aircraft is heavier than entered in the FMC (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emirates_Flight_407). If you want to get sophisticated use TopCat to enter fuel, passengers, baggage and BEW and it will do a load sheet for you and using FSUIPC will update flight sim to the weights you provided. Nice.

Hey Trent,
Sorry I missed your crossing. I was controlling for the night on Gander tracks U and V. I was visiting controller and they do have different procedures. Not the best time to learn them on the fly whilst 50 aircraft are in your airspace. Anyway I can honestly say it was the busiest I have ever been controlling. I seemed to be on top of it more than most but even still it was almost impossible to maintain true separation.
Main thing as always just to go with the flow and have fun and facilitate aircraft and pilots. Waiting for the next one now

Hi Kirk,
I downloaded a low res image with georef and also the same image broken into 4 pieces at higher res. Not sure what area you want but let me know and I can grab that. Maybe PM your email and I can send them to you.

Hey Kirk
I have my own full fixed based B737 sim which is complete and quite nice (see attached photos) in Perth but wanted to be part of a 'team'. I had volunteered for the B777 team but training was Tuesdays which I couldn't make because I lead a Cub Scout Pack. So looks like I will conduct ad hoc legs in my own sim. See you on line! Let me know if I can help at all.
Best wishes

Hey Kirk
I can get you a recent near map image if you are keen. Let me know.

Hey Greg,
Just Euroscope in standard configuration but simulation mode 'easy ground'. As you know, the 'radar' mode is great because it does really simulate radar coverage based on radar installation locations, so aircraft tags will change from primary/secondary to out of radar coverage.

Hey folks
What is the best way of getting at the vatsim stats to see who is in front?

Hi all,
As AD TWR I was really impressed with the event and had a great time controlling on the ground for a change. The mix of a few inbounds to AD made it more realistic and fun to sequence. That included SGN doing a practice approach on runway 23 (05 was active) with APP then suspended autorelease It was a good team effort from ATC to support the event. A few delays at the threshold for take-off added to the realism of the event. Not too long though. Ill post a few photos from the scope from the night below.
Best wishes

Hey Chris
In regards to controllers doing clearances on the ground. Normally a centre (CTR) controller like DOS will have control of the whole sector from ground up. Often the controller will set up an ATIS and control the major airport in that sector (if there are no other DEL, GND, TWR, APP) like YBBN. They may even control multiple airports like YMML and YMEN. However, the CTR will be providing a service to all pilots in the sector and therefore it is common that if the traffic is busy in the sector for the controller to allow independent departures with a report airborne. So yes but it is really up to the individual controller to provide a wall to wall service, workload permitting.
Best wishes

Hi all,
It was a challenge all round.
I like the idea of the debrief and sorry I couldn't contribute directly on Teamspeak. Could we please next time have this scheduled so we get more than half a days notice I would also be interested in a parallel pilot debrief.
I was on Director east. What I thought would be straight forward vectoring for "fine tuning" didn't turn out that way. Both APP did a great job Daniel and Tracey in modulating the flow to us. On occasions it was a little light even on 16L. I noted that there were not aircraft directed over SY for 16L which perhaps reduced the efficiency a little (although I probably couldn't of handled any more traffic!)
The major two issues from my perspective were:
1. Aircraft were handed off at say OVILS (15 miles to 16L) at 6000ft or more. But then they change freq which takes a minute most of the time and then they contact me at 12 miles at 6000ft or more when they should already be on the localiser and at 4000ft at the IAF. So I had at least half the aircraft too high and this resulted in lots of go arounds and delays trying to get them back in. I suggest that in a similar configuration the aircraft should be handed off at say 20 miles to run or be established on the localiser already.
2. then the other issue was the number of pilots who contacted me at Dir east and notified 16L then intercepted on 16R. Even when 16L was in the tag too. Back to kindergarten to learn left and right
TS worked well especially for the TMA team.
As for merging onto two separate centrelines that should be possible although it is harder than you think (especially when pilots intercept the wrong localiser). You have to be anticipating what the other DIR will do whilst also handling your own aircraft. I felt that if we had more time and room to handle aircraft to the north it would have been easier to correct any errors and think ahead a little
Id be keen to learn more flow techniques
Well done

Hi everyone,
I have THREE- NEC NP510WS projectors to be sold together.
Really nice projectors previously used in Flight Simulator for wrap around visuals. Ideal for cockpit builders.
Moved house and these projectors don't suit my requirements anymore.
Has only 500 hours on and 88% time remaining on factory globes.
Product sheet, Users manual and projection calculator can be found here http://www.projectorcentral.com/NEC-NP510WS.htm
Being sold on eBay. Grab yourself a bargain

Hi all,
Quick update. Version 1.1 of FSX Ozrunways plugin.

Changes
v1.1 Added current weather (wind speed and direction) as data output. Added a few print statements to tack in FSUIPC log. Increased default update rate. Added comments.

Hi all,
For those of you interested I have coded up a plugin that allows you to use OzRunways with FSX. The OzRunways app is great in that it is an EFB with moving maps and planning features. The maps include all the current VNC, VTC, high/low charts, WACs etc. It has the current ERSA and DAPS.
Now you can use this with FSX. Great for use in VFR flights to show the airspace boundaries, VFR routes, etc. There are some example screenshots in the documentation attached.
To install extract the file into ..... /Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Modules/
Read the documentation in the relevant folder.
Its a first version but should work fine. If you have any feedback on the plugin or documentation let me know.
Cheers

Yes I've been waiting for that. The competition AIR NAV PRO have just released the FSX feature in their most recent version.
Ill take a look at coding something.

Hi all,
Comment of the day
BN-ARL (me): "QF474, track direct SHARK then join the the MARLIN8 arrival, maintain FL350"
QF474: "But there are five SHARKS"
BN-ARL: " Well that's a school of sharks and you are in deep trouble"
QF474 obviously referring to 5 SHARK waypoints in their FMC....
A terrific day well done all

Hi all,
I have been getting some wierd decoding on EuroScope recently using UniATIS. For example
YBBN 011200Z 24005KT 9999 FEW045 16/14 Q1014 NOSIG
[YBBN][ATIS]O.[EXP][iLS][APCH].[RWY].[WND]240[DEGREES]5[KTS]. [VIS][GT THAN]10[KM].[CLD][FEW]{4500}[FT],[TMP]16.[QNH]1014.[;][YBBN][-]O..........
The above decode is not correct and does not correspond to my .wav files that I had previously set up. Has been like this for weeks.
Anyone else having issues?
Thanks

Hi all,
Was on ML_SNO. A good event well done. It didnt seem as paniccy as usual. Maybe we are getting better and FMS may have helped. Of course having two time slots may make the traffic more diffuse. I guess that a balance with having too much traffic and too much holding.
I thought GVCCS was excellent. great quality. I was surprised that FLOW came on channel a few times without warning. Maybe there is a setting somewhere. Otherwise FLOW could listen in all all my swearing.
FLOW was useful although I do need to get the hang of it.
Sorry to Richard (EL_CTR) as my internet connection dropped out for several minutes right at the worst time.
well done all

You could consider FSCommander. I used FSNavigator for years but havent looked back since FSCommander

Hi Michael,
Good to see you back on line tonight. I was on ML-BIK centre and Terry was on SNO CTR. I would take Justins advice and get a hold of Vatspy which will allow you to see where the ATC is in OZ and then start there.
Now when you were online you said there was no tower at Brisbane or Sydney. Whilst there was no Tower (i.e. SY_TWR or ML_TWR) and indeed no Approach (SY_APP ot ML_APP), there were the two centre positions who can also help and indeed take on the role of the Tower at the major airports within their control. Just get n touch with us.

TMA and CTR sector files together in ES
in ATC Training

Hi all,
Another question if anyone knows? Im sure I used to be able to have a TMA and CTR sector file open in Euroscope no problems in the past. Currently if I open a CTR file then open a TMA file the first sector file that was loaded looses its geographic position and aircraft are shown way off the map. Anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?
Thanks
