This May, VATPAC invites you to the Gold Coast for the next rendition of the Panic Stations series! Whether you decide to shoot a coastal visual approach or fly the scenic route via the stunning Gold Coast cityscape, it doesn't matter; all that matters is you make it on time to win the bragging rights! Queensland awaits this rendition of Panic Stations, with expectations of a fully staffed Gold Coast (YBCG) between 0700z – 1100z (5pm-9pm AEST, 4:30pm-8:30pm ACST, 3pm-7pm AWST). Event Details: The aim of Panic Stations is simple; get as many aircraft flying into the destination as possible with one objective. Be the first person to arrive into the Gold Coast at or after the arrival time, for your chance to score bragging rights! Note: pilots must depart from an aerodrome more than 30 Nautical miles from the Gold Coast to be eligible to win the panic station award. This time around the touchdown time is: 1000z(8pm AEST : 7:30pm ACST : 6pm AWST) We recommend bringing some extra holding fuel as controllers will be busy trying to accommodate the influx of pilots whilst trying to maintain separation standards.
