  1. Hi guys,

I noticed the other day that the YSSY sector file doesn't include the Kilo apron which has been in place for quite some time now.  I saw that the YPPH files were updated recently, and thought I'd raise this one to see if someone might be able to add it.

I've also noticed that there's no taxiway label on B4 (between C and G).  Taxiway B4 forms an unofficial standard taxi route for departures parked east of DOM3 in the 16 direction and is also used to separate aircraft westbound on G from departures off DOM2 in the 34 direction, but a lot of online controllers seem to avoid it or mistake it for C2, possibly due to the position of the labels.  I know that area is already packed with taxiway labels, but would it be possible to include a B4 label on the taxiway itself (maybe by moving the C2 label slightly to the east to avoid any confusion there)?

    Cheers,

    Matt

Typical. My first flight using AFV had me frequency hunting.

Sorry Russell, I was on WOL and saw you become airborne, so out of habit used the short hand for a contact me which, like you suggested, used my primary frequency which you were out of range of.  We were discussing this last night, as soon as I sent the contact me, I realised it had the wrong frequency in there but then got distracted with other aircraft and couldn't send you a PM until a little later.  It's going to take everyone a little bit of time to kill old habits I think.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

I'd like to jump on this bandwagon. I'm willing to purchase some old Sydney VTCs and charts.

If you're willing to spend some money Tristan, you might even be better off buying some new charts from a local pilot store.  Last I checked, most VTCs go for $11 or $12 and the Sydney VTC goes for about $15 (comes with the Sydney General Flying Guide).  Not sure what your intention with them is but you might be able to get a current chart for the same price as a second hand one.

  4. Nice work Peter.  Is it necessary to update the profile files (like Melbourne - Snowy (ML-SNO_CTR).prf) as well?  I've found the biggest hassle of updating AIRACs is having to set up all of my F1+# shortcuts again afterwards.  If there's data in there that needs to be changed then there's no way around it, but it would be great if there was an easy way of updating everything without having to fix those things after.  Or is there already a way of doing this that I'm missing?

  5. Thanks for all the suggestions.  I tested using single playback of an existing file and of a new voice file but no luck.  I've never had to configure ports in the past for ES to work, and haven't replaced the router or the computer.  I might dig up the thread with the ports ES needs open and double check they are configured properly.

  6. Hi guys,

For some reason, my ES ATIS' don't broadcast sound on their assigned frequency.  I create an ATIS using ATC Assist, paste it in the ATIS window and click the Connect ATIS and Start Multiple Record Playback buttons.  The ATIS shows up in the controller list and if I tick the Listen Playback checkbox in the ATIS window, I hear the recording, but if I close the ATIS window and right mouse click the ATIS in the controller list to 'Listen to Frequency', I hear silence.  Pilots have also reported not hearing the ATIS broadcast, although they see the text show up when they join the frequency.

A bit of background, I was experimenting with recording a voice ATIS at a metro Class D airport and accidentally deleted the default ATIS file in the Manual folder.  I attempted to recreate it but it seems ever since I did that, none of my ATIS' have worked.

I have done a complete reinstall of ES and TAAATS mod but haven't had any luck.

Has anyone run into anything like this before?  Or have any suggestions?

  7. Hi there,

I'm attempting to setup Euroscope for the first time.  I installed Eurcope 3.1d and then the TAAATS mod from the VATPAC website, and installed AIRAC1612v2 from the Sector Files page on the website.  I've logged on as an observer and trying to listen in at ML as TWR is currently online (at time of writing obviously).  I set my audio up to ML_TWR and was able to hear communications on 120.500, but I couldn't see any traffic.

I clicked the 'Open SCT' button and selected 'Open', and then found 'Melbourne Aerodrome' in the Euroscope/VATPAC/ASR/AD/ folder.  When I open it, I get an error message which reads "\Sector\ES_vic_tma.sct sectorfile not found.  Do you want to use the active sectorfile instead?".  Clicking no forces me to select a new sectorfile (although none of them seem to work for me), and clicking yes just uses whatever file is active at the time, which for me is just TAAATS, which doesn't seem to display any usable data for me.

Is anyone able to give me a hand?  I'm sure its a stupid problem that has an easy, obvious fix, but I've been trying all night and getting more and more frustrated.

    Thanks in advance.
