@Tristan Duncombe Sent you an email this morning, I'm keen on jumping on wherever, preferably CTR or APP. If flow is needed, I'm keen on that too.
Hey Eoin, I didn't receive that email, just confirming my email is t.duncombe(at)vatpac.org
I would like to thank everyone for last ditch support. I am really happy with each and everyone of you stepping up. Especially those who are controlling 8 hours straight.
Thanks,
Tristan

Hey Guys,
After over 1/4 of the controllers from Real Ops not being able to attend, I really need to find new controllers. Some people have put their hand up for all day shifts and I'm grateful to those people, however, the amount of controllers pulling out is ridiculous. I come to staff because I believe that all staff are semi-reliable and we really need people who I can rely on. We need more controllers can anyone make any time on Sunday the 7th?
Thanks,
Tristan

Hi,
Just enquiring as to why the emails of the people who got the Real Ops roster sent to them are listed in their full glory in the CC field?
Surely BCC could do?
Yeah, forgot, I was going to but simply glared over it. I agree it should have been a BCC.

Hi Tristian,
I'm not sure how the system works and had a look. Do you know who created it or who used to manage it?
Harrison Scott and Jacob Holmes, I'm sure commenting out the sections just works
If you can, can you please add a hyperlink to roster?

Dear All,
I am looking for the support of the IT staff (specifically @Steven Brown) to remove the ATC application on the real ops website.
Can anyone do that for me?
Kind Regards,

Hey All,
Look the Event's department has been working on events - you know the stuff we usually do, however, no one in the department actually is able to post on the VATPAC - Vatsim Asia Pacifc Facebook Page. I've attempted to contact the admins, however, there was no response. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,

It's been some time since the last Real Ops. Actually, over 3 years and it’s coming back strong, with 8 hours of continuous ATC service. Real Ops will be held in Sydney, so get strapped in!
With this returning so has the website. All the information as well as ATC applications and pilot information can be found at https://realops.vatpac.org
What is Real Ops?
The idea is quite simple. Real Ops focuses on running the airport like it was the real world, this means that all ATC positions are rostered.
Pilots can expect holding and waits so remember to bring extra fuel. Controllers can expect hard work and many nonstandard procedures to deal with the traffic.
This time we will be focusing on Sydney’s Kingsford-Smith International Airport, which is the busiest airport in Australia by passenger volume and has the longest runway in the Southern hemisphere. There will be over 8 hours of continuous ATC services and 20+ ATC positions. What ever you like, there will be something for you!
The Details
Sunday, October 7th
ATC will be provided from 0000z-0800z(10:00-18:00 AEST)
You can find all rostered positions, pilot information and more at https://realops.vatpac.org

What is Regionals and Twins?
Taking the focus off major airports and the big jets, Regionals and Twins celebrates both Australia's vast network of inland and outback hubs and the aircraft that service them.
You'll need a prop, turbo-prop or small business jet to get in and out of most of the places visited in a Regionals and Twins event but you'll get to enjoy some spectacular scenery as you cruise along at low levels. Controllers are also taken out of their comfort zone as ATC often sees procedural positions.
This week's Details
This month we'll be focusing on Hamilton island, Hamilton island is an airport 500nm to the north of Brisbane, its main purpose is to service the Whitsunday Islands, with a 1,764 meter long runway. This airport provides a great approach and good destination- especially for slower aircraft which can admire the beauty of this tourist destination.

Myself along with another person were intending to come to the event, however the lack of both ATC and pilots at the start of the event significantly deterred us from this. My friend decided not to fly, and to be honest I only flew because of people talking about it in Teamspeak. I think the main issue was first of all, a lack of ATC, and second of all, a lack of advertising. The event was pretty low-profile on the Facebook page and events calendar (it disappeared on the day of the event!). Another aspect is just how new this event is; us VATPAC pilots (especially the newer ones) are not used to the event being at this time. I believe it will pick up in popularity in the next few weeks.
Josh, thanks for your feedback! However, at this time Regionals and Twins, will only occur once a month.

Hi all,
The events team is seeking your feedback for Regionals and Twins.
We seek your feedback to make this event better, so please comment on why you did or didn't come.
Thanks,
The Vatpac Events Team

After being requested many times, Regionals and Twins is coming back!
What is Regionals and Twins?
Regionals and Twins focuses on shorter range routes for Regional Jets and Twin Props, usual consisting of routes that are 300-500nm into difference and unusual locations. Regionals and Twins will be on the first Thursday of every month from 7pm-10pm AEDT.
The Details
This time we’re focusing on Longreach, Longreach a small uncontrolled aerodrome approximately 450nm west of Rockhampton, which is know as it has the Qantas Museum. Whilst Longreach is in the middle of nowhere, it is a nice destination for smaller aircraft.

Great work guys on this, it looks great! . Only Issue I found was with the chart panel as I typed YBCG and it just came up with the index for charts with ASA, I don't know if its the ID10T error or an error on your behalf. Otherwise, works well, great as a 1 stop shop for every required by pilots!

Just some information for people having issues. 1) remember to remove the quoatation marks from the URL. 2) tick update generate new atis using URL. 3) click test url. and profit. If you're having issues with it saying the files are missing just add the 1803 atis files descriptor.

I don’t know why the current director, immediate former director and the VATSIM board have a need to argue publicly. I find it amazing that members in a position of authority feel it’s not necessary to ignore members, but when they feel they have been involved use the full force of their position. That is a conflict of interest to me, and will be every day. You can’t use your position for your own gain. JH should apologise on this forum to all VATPAC members for only using the forum for his own defence. My opinion of course.
I kind off agree, however I do not think JH should apologise. He was voicing his opinion, however, the fact that high ranking staff are arguing on the forums does not put the staff team as a whole in a good light. Arguing about it should stay verbal or not on the forums...
Edit: Don't kill me for my opinion plssssss
