  1. Hi Everyone, VATPAC IT is proud to present the latest edition of ATC Assist. It has a more user friendly design with a reliable backend that will provide accurate SID's and STAR's. It also features a Route Finder, Chart Search and a metar tool. ATC Assist has also moved from assist.vatpac.org to atc.vatpac.org. This is part of an ongoing plan which will also see the return of a dedicated pilot assist tool. I would like to thank Jacob Holmes especially for his efforts with this application.   2. Please join me in congratulating Jacob Holmes on his appointment to the position of VATPAC Deputy Director IT. Jacob has been working in the IT department since November 2016 alongside myself. He has contributed to the department greatly over his time, especially with the upcoming ATC Assist. Jacob joins us from his position of Deputy Director ATC Training where he has proven himself as a responsible and mature staff member. Daniel and the Board wishes to thank Jacob for his efforts in the position of Deputy Director ATC Training and wish him all the best for his new position.

Being a developer at VATPAC allows you to expand your skill set with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects to enhance the VATPAC infrastructure. Reports to: VATPAC Director IT Duties: Assist in developing web and locally based applications that enhance the VATPAC infrastructure. Liaise with the Director IT and/or Deputy Director IT with regards to current and future projects. Ensure that any project and information not available to the general membership is held in strict confidence. Essential Criteria: Be a member of good standing in VATSIM Be able to work well in a voluntary organisation Have a good IT knowledge including but not limited to HTML, CSS...   8. Applications are now open to suitably experienced VATPAC members for the position of VATPAC Deputy Director - IT Systems (VATPAC14). The Deputy Director - IT Systems role is tasked to assist with the daily upkeep of the main VATPAC IT services and the daily administrative work of the IT department. This includes; teamspeak, VATPAC main site and subsequent vatpac.org services. Reports to: VATPAC Director IT Direct Reports: None Duties: Assist in managing the Information Technology for use in the VATPAC airspace Ensure that the Division's website's information is relevant, recent, current and appropriate Assist the development team in creating applications to positively enhance the Divisions Infrastructure Collaborate with the development team to develop applications to improve services provided by VATPAC controllers Maintain an online presence of greater than 5 hours per month on the VATSIM network Essential Criteria: Consistently active participation in the greater VATPAC community for the last 12 months Be a member of good standing in VATSIM for more than one year at the time of application Have a good rapport with VATPAC and VATSIM and maintain this rapport throughout their tenure Have good knowledge of the VATSIM Code of Conduct and Code of Regulations Have proven ability in the management of a small group of people Be able to work well within a voluntary organisation Be coherent with Cpanel and WHM Have good knowledge of Information Technology, including (but not limited to) html, php, CSS, Javascript, Python, xml, CMS, etc. Have notable previous IT experience How to Apply: Members interested in being considered for the role should apply by outlining their experience and suitability, addressing each of the essential criteria listed above.
