    VRC POF/Alias

    Hi all,

     

    I have installed VRC on a different computer and can't download the VATPAC VRC POF (30), it just comes up in a different tab on Internet Explorer. Can someone provide me a link where I can download this, also, do I need an Alias file, I can't seem to find it?

    It was great to have a chat on TeamSpeak this arvo, looking forward to this release too! The scenery looks amazing and I would love to get into some more VFR stuff, the Sydney basin is a great place to fly!

    Procedural Tower APP Services

    Hi all,

     

    I was just browsing through the charts the other day and came across that some procedural towers now have some type of approach service? At Rockhampton, the chart says: OUTSIDE TWR HRS, FOR ONGROUND COMMS RK APP 123.75.

     

    The RK2 dep now says it is RADAR as well.

     

    I know RK have some radar from BN CTR but I didn't know they could use RADAR SIDs?

     

    I do recall someone saying something about 'Regional Airport Approach Services' or 'RAAPS' but I wonder who provides this service? Is it from RK or BN?

     

    If someone could help me out and answer my questions?

    Hi Aaron, welcome to the community!

     

    If you are looking for scenery check out http://www.fullterrain.com, they do a bunch of Australian airports (payware) which are extremely well detailed. There is also heaps of freeware sceneries on websites such as http://www.flightsim.com or http://www.library.avsim.com just to name a few. Also checkout YouTube as many members upload videos of their flights on VATSIM, some also upload videos of themselves controlling, these will help a lot with the operation of your aircraft and radio communications. If you are looking for prop aircraft have a look at http://www.majesticsftware.com, they have produced a ultra-high quality, realistic Q400, on the GA side of things check out http://www.a2asimulatiosn.com, they stock a range of awesome GA aircraft with great flight dynamics and even do a Spitfire!

    Hey Daniel,

     

    Whatever you do, I do not reccomend AMD processors, they just aren't up to the reliability of Intel. Although AMD has faster clock-speeds, they are more likely to fail. I would stay with your i7 CPU. The rest of your specs looks pretty good, the GTX750ti is fairly good but you can always upgrade in the future. 8GB of RAM is plenty for FSX, and the 600W power supply is up there too. Overall, drop the AMD CPU and she'll run beautifully.

    Majestic Q400 Shared Cockpit

    Sounds good Roger! I believe it should be compatible between FSX & P3D. The only other thing I heard regarding sharing a cockpit in the dash is enabling port forwarding to be able to connect to the other pilots' network, but I'm not 100% sure. The HUD sounds awesome as well but Qantaslink Q400's aren't yet equipped with them, they may be upgrading in the future though.

    I was just wondering if anyone knows if I can do a shared cockpit with the Majestic Q400 (pilot edition) through FSX multiplayer, then connect to VATSIM? And if so, would anyone want to fly with me sometime?

    Can't hear ATC?

    Hi All,

     

    I have fixed my problem!! :thumbs: It turned out that I hadn't connected to the voice server properly. I fixed that by editing my router port to 3290 TCP/UDP, and I can now finally hear ATC again! :party: Thanks to Terry Scanlan for your help and patience!

    I can confirm that all my volume sliders are at the highest setting and my headset/mic isn't muted. When I connect to VATSIM I can still hear the "pinging" noise as well, so I believe it could be a problem with connecting to the voice server...

    Hi everyone,

     

    I'm experiencing some issues with hearing ATC on VATSIM, but all ATC state they can hear me. I've been on VATSIM/VATPAC for about 6 months now and have never had problems like this. I can also still hear aircraft noise so my speakers/headset isn't broken. I have tried connecting with FSinn and vPilot, but both gave me no sucess. My Firewall is disabled but that doesn't help me either. I would really like some help for this...
