Worldflight is one of VATSIM's premier online events, attracting many pilots from all around the globe. On Monday 2nd November 2009, a team of 7 fixed-based (and one full-motion) simulators, crewed by teams of VATSIM members, will depart Sydney for a round-the-clock global flight, returning to Sydney seven days later. Since 2001, World Flight Australia has raised in excess of $120,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. In support of this year's event, we are planning our strategy to provide 24-hour ATC services for the sim teams and many tag along home-flyers. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from any controllers interested in joining the ATC team or all or part of the week. The team operates out of a mock ATC centre facility located onsite at WF HQ in Sydney Participants must be Sydney-based or be prepared to travel to the facility Participants should hold at least a TWR rating A receipted donation to the RFDS will be required (further details available) Basic on-site accommodation for interstate participants may be available Again this is just an expression of interest, confirmation will not take place until closer to the event once final arrangements have been made.
