Shannon W - 811815 Posted July 2, 2009 Share Posted July 2, 2009 VATPAC is currently seeking applications from members for the position of Deputy Director of Division - VATPAC2 The Deputy Division Director (DDD) is responsible for monitoring and supporting the day to day needs of the division. The DDD reports to the Division Director and liaises with other Directors, providing project support as required. The DDD acts as the Division Director during times of absence. The DDD will also be tasked with the development of the Pacific/Oceanic areas of the VATPAC Division Responsibilities: ? Assist the Division Director in fulfilling the role and responsibilities of DD ? Monitor the day to day progress of assigned projects ? Manage discussion forums - includes membership screening, moderation actions and policy enforcement ? Investigate new opportunities ? Participate in staff discussions and decision making ? Assist other directors when required and possible ? Contribute constructively to the improvement of VATPAC for all members ? Co-ordinate local responses/action to global or VATSIM projects. ? Identify and suggest potential new staff team members ? Specifically develop, promote and support the VATPAC geographical areas which are predominately defined as "oceanic" airspace Time Commitment The estimated time commitment associated with this role is approximately 10 hours per week. Requirements of role The successful candidate will meet the following minimum requirements: [*]Have an in depth understanding of VATPAC/VATSIM issues [*]Be experienced in the management of clubs, groups or online organisations [*]Posses strong communication skills [*]Be a member of VATPAC [*]Be in good standing with VATSIM It is highly desirable that the candidate will have experience in the maintenance/development of webpages, including use of Joomla and experience in using vBulletin administrator permissions.
