Hi Folks,

 

We are now inviting applications from members who are interested in taking on the newly-created role of 'Director of Pilot Services'.

 

Here are the details:

 

VATPAC4 - Director of Pilot Services

 

Role Description:

The Director of Pilot Services is responsible for monitoring the satisfaction and level of support for new pilots. They are responsible for the welcome and induction of new pilots, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to properly participate online.

 

Key Responsibilities:

? Managing the welcome and support of new members

? Ensuring that new users receive suitable support services when they first join

? Maintaining documentation to ensure adequate education standards of pilots

? Participation in and leadership of relevant discussion within the VATPAC Forums

? Discover the needs of pilots and implement programs to ensure these needs are met

? Liaise with other directors as appropriate, particularly with the events director ensuring pilots have sufficient knowledge/tools to participate.

? Ensure pilot training resources on VATPAC Website are updated as required to ensure relevant to real life operations or VATSIM/VATPAC Policy and procedures

? Maintain the content of the pilot services pages on the VATPAC website

 

As a full-voting VATPAC Board role, the general expectations of all Directors also applies:

 

? Contribute constructively to the ongoing development and improvement of VATPAC for all members

? Attend periodic VATPAC Board meetings to report on operational issues

? Maintain a regular on line presence on the VATSIM Network, controlling, flying, observing.

? Perform VATPAC Forum moderation

? Actively and constructively participate in Staff Forum discussions

? Maintain a presence on the VATPAC forums, particularly in discussion pertaining to areas of responsibility within their directorship

? Keep abreast of VATSIM news and issues impacting their directorship

 

Time Commitment

It is estimated that the minimum time commitment would be in the vicinity of three hours per week.

Applicants should send an email to [email protected] briefly outlining your VATSIM experience and why you're interested in taking this challenge on. (No more than 150 words). Applications will be received and reviewed by an independent panel. Applications must be received on or before midnight, Monday 22nd September AET.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to give back and serve VATPAC. I encourage you not to be put off by the formality of this description, it's constructed formally so that all expectations out on the table from the outset. If you have a passion to coordinate efforts to serve our pilots we'd love to hear from you.
