Andrew C - 812404
I am pleased to announce the launch of the new Oceanic Endorsement. This endorsement permits the holder to control Oceanic sectors throughout VATPAC (and VATNZ from 1 Jan 2007). The endorsement represents a new direction for VATPAC Training by utilising an online modular training system called Moodle. Candidates are required to enrol in Moodle to access training documentation and sit for assessment. Other training modules will be progressively made available in Moodle throughout 2007. To undertake the Oceanic endorsement candidates must: - hold an ATC rating of Senior Student or higher; - have logged no less than 50 hours at an ATC position; and - have logged no less than 25 hours at an Enroute Centre position. To apply for the endorsement, use the standard promotion request form available via the Training menu on the main page of the VATPAC website. Simply select 'Oceanic endorsement' from the drop-down menu of rating options. I would like to publicly thank Will Tidmarsh for his hard work on the early drafts of the Oceanic procedures manual. Thanks also to Will, Rob Hooley & Roland Collins for their contribution to the ongoing development and refinement of this module. Thank you also to the beta testers for your invaluable feedback and testing of the system. The following have successfully completed the Oceanic module and obtained their endorsement: Andrew Moseley John Keech Terry Scanlan Geoffrey Balean Ben Ippolito Greg Barber Others are still working through the endorsement and will be announced in the ATC promotion forum once they have completed it.
