Guest Dean Constantinidis
The following policy will be in effect in all VATSIM Regions, effective April 1st, 2003, and applies to Air Traffic Controllers only: "All controllers are to have ATIS in their ProController / ASRC to a size never greater than four lines with a suggested maximum of three lines. The suggested format includes the Controller's voice connection details (if using Voice) in first line, then runways in use (if appropriate), followed only by some simple details of the airport / airspace they are controlling in the lines to follow." VATPAC - Controller ATIS Information provided in the controller ATIS should be brief, relevant and contain only necessary information. As Weather changes, and pilots are able to retrieve all their weather information themselves, it is not necessary to include it in the ATIS. VATSIM regulations now stipulate your ATIS should be no longer than 4 lines. Voice controllers MUST include their voice IP in the ATIS on the first line. The following example gives an idea of a simple ATIS that conveys all that is required for ASRC: $MyRW $radioname() - Information DELTA Runway 16L and R for arrivals and departures, expect ILS approach For current WX please check ACARS Or for Pro Controller Roger Wilco Voice rw1.vatpac.org/sy_v_app Sydney Approach - Information DELTA Runway 16L and R for arrivals and departures, expect ILS approach For current WX please check ACARS
