The application process is open for those persons interested in joining the pilot training department.

There are presently 3 Instructor positions available. Those who do not obtain an instructor role will be offered mentor roles.

The mentor role will be a stepping stone to instructor in the same fashion as ATC Mentor.

The Instructor role brings with it a minimum time requirement where as the mentor role does not, nevertheless there is still an expectation you will help out where required to do so.

One of the three instructors will be given the position of deputy director of pilot training. This position involves 'but is not limited to';

General administration

Responding to emails

Student administration in moodle

Supporting the P1 ratings scheme, ATO application, and RPL establishment

Assignment of students to instructors or mentors as required

Research and development

Although 30 minutes is an idealistic time requirement quota, the initial set up and establishment of the training organisation status and subsequent student influx may push this time out slightly. All applicants for Instructor roles should be prepared for this initial influx and be willing to take on such workloads accordingly. It is thought that following the initial establishment the workload will trail off and be as per the advertised 30 minutes.

Please do not feel that mentors are any less important than that of the instructor. The mentors are 'in the field' working one on one with new students so the people skills, patience and approach to training are of high importance.

All successful applicants will undergo a moodle 'short course' about training and assessment. There will be a re-currency requirement applied to this training.

I will be selecting the successful applicants based upon what is in the best interest of the training department. Should you feel that any decision is unfair. Shannon Wells will be the appeal contact.

Successful candidates will be announced in the public pilot training forum.

Please pm or email me if you require further information.

Applications close in one week from this post. We are seeking only those individuals with a selfless motive and a willingness to contribute back to the community.

If you have sent an application and have not yet received an email confirmation. Please either save the pdf, attach and send it, or copy and send the information in a word document.

Some users are having problems sending the pdf, this is likely due to the variety of different software out there.

I will need a statement of agreement with reference to the position requirements and in particular the privacy of information confirmation.

Cheers.
