Jackson H - 820457 Posted October 31, 2010 Share Posted October 31, 2010 OPENING OF SOUTH PACIFIC vACC PACIFIQUE SUD (SPvACC) The Australia/Pacific Division of VATSIM, VATPAC and France vACC of VATSIM Europe Division will launch the first combined vACC on 31 Oct 2010. Covering both the Tahiti (NTTT) and Nadi (NFFF) FIRs, administration of the vACC will be shared between the two organisations. Although on VATSIM the airspace is controlled by VATPAC, in real life there is a significant French presence in both FIRs, especially in Tahiti and New Caledonia. The unique structure of the SPvACC recognises this important real life relationship and is designed to allow French controllers to join with those from VATPAC and VATNZ in providing services throughout this region. Members from France vACC, VATNZ and VATPAC will all be entitled to join the new vACC on it's opening. VATPAC will offer Oceanic training to those interested, while expertise from France vACC will allow controllers from Oceania to use the correct French procedures. In addition, controllers from other areas Regions/Divisions/vACCs can apply for visiting controller status in an area of the world that will offer a unique experience for Controllers. To celebrate the official opening day the staff of the vACC will open up positions within the NTTT FIR from 0600Z on 31 Oct 10 Come one come all!
