  1. In addition to this, I would like to give a special thanks to Richard Quigley, Peter Story and Sean Harrison for their time and efforts in the development of the Pacific sector files.
  2. 1. Introduction: The Pacific sector files have been in the works for quite a while now and are now ready for release to the public. The Pacific sector files include Port Moresby FIR, Honiara FIR and finally the Nadi FIR. The Pacific sector files have been developed to only have two sector files for simplicity. These sector files have been developed in line with the same standard as the VATPAC sector files which include SIDS, STARS, Airways, Fixes and VOR’s. These sector files will be updated not as frequent as the Brisbane and Melbourne FIR sector files but will be updated annually and whenever necessary. These sector files can be downloaded from the VATPAC Website: http://www.vatpac.org/operations/sector-files 2. Airspace Structure: The Airspace structure and controller positions for Noumea, Vanuatu and Nadi are as follows: 2.1 Noumea/New Caledonia: NFFF_FSS Nadi Radio 123.600: Class D OCA 9500ft-FL195 Class A OCA FL195-F600 (except within 120nm LTO VOR where it's FL245-FL600) (unchanged) NWWW_APP Tontoua Approach (Procedural) 128.300: Class D CTA 6500ft-FL245 within 120nm LTO VOR (Pine Is down to 1500ft and Lifou down to 1200ft) NWWW_TWR Tontoua Tower (Procedural) 118.1 (ATIS 126.2): Class D CTA SFC-6500ft within rectangle around NWWW (includes Class D CTR (Appendix A) NWWM_TWR Magenta Tower (Procedural) 118.3 (ATIS 126.6): Class D CTA SFC-6500ft within trapezoid around NWWM (includes Class D CTR (Appendix A) 2.2 Vanuatu: NFFF_FSS Nadi Radio 123.600: Class D OCA 9500ft-FL195 Class A OCA FL195-F600 (unchanged) NVVV_CTR (Procedural) 120.700: Class D CTA 9500ft-FL245 within the lateral limits of the existing Port Vila CTA sector NVVV_TWR (Procedural) 118.300 (ATIS 126.4): Class D CTA SFC-9500ft within 50nm ARP NVVV 2.3 Nadi: NFFF_FSS Nadi Radio 123.600: Class D OCA 9500ft-FL195 Class A OCA FL195-F600 (unchanged) NFFN_APP (Radar) 119.100: Class A CTA SFC-FL200 within 100nm NN VOR NFNA_APP (Radar) 119.700: Class D CTA within 25nm SFC-9500ft NFFN_TWR (Radar) 118.100 (ATIS 127.9) NFNA_TWR (Radar) 119.600 (ATIS 128.5) NOTE: Airspace profiles for these sectors are currently under development and will be released at a later date. The above airspace profiles and controller positions shal be used until the time of release. 3. Distribution: This NOTAM is issued by VATSIM Australia Pacific (VATPAC) and shall be distributed via: (a) VATPAC Forums (b) VATPAC Website 4. Cancellation: This NOTAM can and will only be cancelled by the Director of Operations. Any questions or queries are to be directed at [email protected]. 5. 3. 1. Introduction: The Controller Information and ATIS Policy is in place to provide guidelines for information that should be presented within the Controllers information when logging onto the Network. The changes are being made to best fit the current VATPAC operations and the changes are in line with consultation with the VATPAC Community and the VATPAC Board of Directors. 2. Changes to the Policy: Following feedback from the community, VATPAC has published a change to the Controller Information and ATIS Policy, in order to make extended coverage clearer to pilots, and bring our controller information format in line with many other divisions. These changes affect TMA and Enroute controllers, and require displaying any Top Down aerodrome coverage or extended sector coverage, as well as an ATC Feedback link. There are some little exceptions, so we recommend reading through the new policy and NOTAM regarding the changes. These changes, while published, will not come into effect until 31 July 2017, allowing time for controllers to adjust and be notified of the relevant updates. 3. Distribution: This NOTAM is issued by VATSIM Australia Pacific (VATPAC) and shall be distributed via: (a) VATPAC Forums (b) VATPAC Website 4. Effective Date: While the policy is published and is recommended to be used as a guideline, these changes will not come into effect until 31 July 2017 - 00:00 UTC. 5. Cancellation: This NOTAM will self-cancel 01 August 2017 – 00:00 UTC. NOTAM300717_-_Changes_to_the_Controller_Information_and_ATIS_Policy.pdf
  4. I am happy to announce that the Sector Files have been updated with the addition of the Supplementary data. There have been various major changes in regards to approaches as well SIDS and STARS. They are now available under the Sector Files tab under the Operations tab on the VATPAC Website.
  5. 1. Introduction The VATPAC sector files are produced and developed by the operations department every 3 months. This version just released is AIRAC 1706, effective on the 25th of May 2017. The sector files provided support both the Virtual Radar Client and the Euroscope Client. In addition to the standard Australian sector files, the Pacific sector file is currently being developed and will be available within the coming weeks. These Sector files shall take effect on the 25 MAY 2017 at 00:00 UTC Any additions, comments or queries about the sector files shall be directed to [email protected]. 2. AIRAC 1706 Details In addition to the updates within AIRAC 1706, there have been significant changes to procedures around Australia and approach types into major airports such as Adelaide and Melbourne. These updates will become available at a later date. All controllers should ensure that their files are up to date prior to logging onto the network. These sector files are available from the VATPAC Sector File page under Controllers on the VATPAC Website. In addition to the sector files, the major airport local instructions have also been updated with the current changes within AIRAC 1706. 3. Authority Director, Operations – [email protected] 4.
