OK, pleased to know that it was not only me having issues with McAfee. It is a widely used program so I am surprised that this issue hasn't popped up on the forums before.
-
Callum,
That worked, I turned off McAfee and the AFV loaded without the Unhandled Error....woohoo, thank you Callum.
Now I have to convince McAfee that AFV can be trusted

Hi Callum,
Yes I am using McAfee and now that you have mentioned it I will try running AFV with it turned off.
-
It was a new PC at the time with W10 installed.
Thanks for your interest Nicholas.

I have already run the sfc /scannow routine and supposedly fixed somethings but not the 'Unhandled Exception' problem. A reformat and re install of Windows may fix the problem but that would be a last resort I think.
I have another PC that I can use but it wont accept an installation of Euroscope 3.1D as it insists that the file is corrupted. If I could get it to install then maybe the AFV file would run without the error being a totally different machine. I know that the file is not corrupted as it successfully installed on my other PCs.

Hi Nicholas
I am running Windows 10 Home Edition
Version = 10.0.18362 Build 18362
Searching the net seems to point toward a corrupted or missing DLL file.
-
Thanks Callum, I had already tried that so I will delve further mate.

When AFV first came out I ran it with ES as a stand alone client and it worked really well. Now when I run it I get an 'Unhandled Exception error.
The first couple of lines in the details refer to Metro Framework.Metro Fonts. Tile (Metro Tile Text Size label size) and many other lines of errors.
Could this have occurred after a W10 update as there was one recently and it was after this update that I get the error.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I would be happy to attend if the dinner is still happening

As a Founder of VATPAC and a WorldFlight official I have to say that I am amazed at the reaction to the YBAS incident and that you are devoting so much energy to what is, in the overall scheme of things, insignificant. You will take umbrage in my calling it 'insignificant' but you have lost site of what this event is all about.
WorldFlight is the only major event in VATSIM that runs 24/7 for one week each year. It brings hundreds of pilots and ATC together for a week of enjoyable and challenging flying and ATC. It is not real world and therefore real world procedures will have to be put aside to accommodate unrealistic amounts of traffic on any one sector. It is also about raising money for worthy charities around the world. The Australian teams have raised $30,000. for the RFDS this year and that means we have cracked the $300,000 mark.
I am also quite amazed at you Greg for making such an immature statement "Special procedures that just get made up in a drunken state in the back of a Truck company warehouse". That is inappropriate and I would have expected better from you. You would be well advised to consider the VATSIM CoC before going down that road again.
WorldFlight 2018 route has already been sketched out and you can look forward to bigger and better next year so why don't you all move on and enjoy the hobby created by dedicated folk that would hate to see the bickering that is going on in our region at present.

WF2016 has been amazing with regard to the monies raised for various charities around the world. I have summarised the total money raised in each currency as follows.
AUD102,370
EUR70,860
USD75,130
GBP60,800
Of the AU$102,370 raised, AU$30,000 was raised by the six Australian teams and went direct to the RFDS. The rest went to various charities around the world.
A fantastic result guys and congratulations to all teams.

Is there any chance of changing the font of the inserted "Quotes" in the forum posts as I am finding them difficult to read. The previous ones were easy to read as they appeared to be the same size as the message.

Good luck guys, thanks for your efforts.

Thought I would let you all know that the final tally for our fundraising this year was $33,000, all of which goes to the RFDS via the Every Day Hero Campaign.
We would like to thank all of the VATPAC members who flew, provided ATC or were members of the WFG. Without your support the above result would not have been possible.

Is there anyone here that can assist us in creating flight plans for WF2015 in all the popular add on aircraft formats plus FSX, FSInn and SquawkBox.
If you are able to assist with this task then please email me at tscanlan(at)bigpond.net.au and I will send you the route details.
Many thanks,

Found this short film about aviation in the 50s, the ATC sequences are priceless and worth watching.
Enjoy

To support Trevor's request for crew to participate in the WF2015 round the world flight for the RFDS all I can say is DO IT. You will have so much fun and gain an incredible amount of experience. Fun side apart you will be flying a complete B737 simulator operating under real world flight scheduling.
I have been a crew member of Matt Sheil's B747-400 simulator for the past 15yrs and the only thing that will stop me from participating each year will be....EOD showing in the FMC.

Newbie Night
in General
Posted
Thanks Tracy and VATPAC for arranging the Newbie Night as this is exactly what our new simmers need. They experienced online ATC in a relaxed and informal manner and this is exactly what is needed to allow the newbies to gain confidence in logging on and joining in.
