  1. LOL. Yes we're still around, although I haven't been online for months and will be nearly a year before I'm back online again. Currently overseas with very poor internet.

Rebelair is still around and we still don't give a flying **** about much so feel free to pop over to the website. http://www.rebelair.info

    Cheers :)

  2. Thanks Ben,

I looked into tapatalk a while ago and didn't find their implementation very good on my Android. felt the web view of the forums was better. Happy to give it another look to see if they've improved but I'm not holding my breath.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  3. Hi All,

The website has been restored to service. The fault appears to have been caused by our web host provider (WebCity) upgrading our database server from mySQL version 4 to version 5. This crashed part of the database which runs the CMS.

I can't guarantee that we won't see further crashes as the CMS settles down onto the new database but hopefully they can be quickly resolved.

Thanks for your patience all and thanks Dave for redirecting the site in my absense.

    Cheers

NOTE If you are still getting the database errors on the main VATPAC website. Refresh your internet page using the F5 key (for Firefox and IE - don't know about the other browsers) and this should restore the page for you. Thanks

  4. Hi All,

The Oceania Server will be unavailable tomorrow Monday 26th September from about 12:30pm EST (0230Z) for up to one hour. This is for server maintenance.

    Services affected:

    Connection to VATSIM via OCEANIA

    The rw1.vatpac.org, etc voice rooms

    Teamspeak3

    Pilot Training Moodle test environment

Alternative connection to VATSIM can be made via USA-W2 server or any other VATSIM server during this time.

    Cheers

  5. Hi Guys,

The TS3 server is currently unavailable. I'm currently working on the problem and hope to have it restored to service soon.

Will provide further information when it becomes available.

    Thanks

  6. I've got no problems with you putting them up there Kirk. Just be aware if we get any requests from anyone who doesn't want their photo published, we might have to pull those specific photos down. Were you planning to publish them on fb or just link to the photo bucket?

    Cheers

  7. Guys I've put some photos from the conference and the day at Matt Shield's sim, up here.

The password for the album is brighton

If anyone wishes any particular photos be removed, for whatever reason, please PM me the details.

  8. Hi all,

There will be an outage of the Oceania Server for approximately 10 minutes from 2am est on saturday 23rd July (1400Z on 22nd). The outage is required for urgent server maintenance.

    Services affected include:

    • Connection to vatsim via Oceania Server
    • Teamspeak 3
    • Sandbox pilot training moodle

    Thanks

  9. It is not too late to confirm your attendance to the VATOCE Conference in Sydney next weekend (23rd & 24th July), but you must advise and have your money paid no later than Wednesday July 20. No further registrations will be accepted after that date. Do not just turn up on the day as you are likely to be disappointed.

    Registrations can be made here

  10. Is it just me, or is the first line of this article very funny.

    ABCNews

Qantas pilots have agreed to take industrial action for the first time in 45 years, over what they say is the airline's plan to move international operations offshore.
  11. Hi Kurt,

I'm not clear on the question you are asking, but here are some general thoughts for you.

From your description it sounds like the issue is with your internet connection, rather than anything to do with the teamspeak server.

Dropouts on broadband (presumably you have ADSL or ADSL2) can be for a number of reasons including:

    • The distance you are from the exchange (if you're a long way away, chances are ADSL won't be as reliable)
    • Something flakey going on with your modem/router
    • A problem with the telephone line, either into your house or between you and the exchange, which may be causing interference on the internet traffic

If the internet lags when you reconnect, this often happens when the whole area loses internet and all the modems around the place are automatically reconnecting and authenticating. Not a lot you can do about that. The lag should settle down after about 10-15 minutes if nothing else is going on.

Anyway... some thoughts to keep you going.

    Cheers
