Get ready for the ultimate FIFO flight experience with VATPAC! We're bringing the laughs and the air miles as we whisk you away to Australia's Pilbara-Kimberley region on the first and third Thursday of every month. You won't believe your eyes when you see the red deserts that are so red, they make Elmo blush! And let's not forget those extraordinary rock formations that'll have you saying, "Who needs abstract art when nature's got it covered?"

But that's not all! We've got beautiful reefs that are so stunning, even the fish have started a modeling career. So hop on board and join us on 3rd August, 2023, because we're opening up the stunning interior of Australia like never before. Our regional airfields are the gateway to connecting communities and sharing the joy of FIFO flights. Plus, with connections to Perth and Darwin, you'll have the chance to feel like a mining magnate or an adventure-seeking tourist. Just remember, no gold digging on the flight, folks!

Mark your calendars and set your alarm clocks because this adventure takes place between 0900z-1200z (1900-2200 AEST; 1700-2000 AWST). You don't want to miss the hilarity, the sights, and the chance to discover Australia's hidden gems. So fasten your seatbelts, stow away your fear of puns, and get ready for the funniest FIFO flight of your life!

    Airport of the Week:

One of the most thrilling elements of FIFO Downunder is our "Airport of the Week" feature. We've cooked up an exciting twist to keep you on your toes! Each event, we will reveal a series of clues to the selected airport, challenging your aviation knowledge and geographical instincts. Prepare to put your detective skills to the test!

The first three pilots to successfully decipher the clues and arrive at the designated airport will earn valuable points. Throughout a span of 6 months, we'll tally up the points, creating an exhilarating leaderboard where champions rise to the top. And that's not all – the pilot who reigns supreme at the end of the 6-month period will receive an incredible prize, and ultimate bragging rights of course!

    Routes:

The below map highlights some of the routes available to fly throughout this region:

  3. panic-stations_canberra_banner.thumb.png.c012bb31becdde76312b8835194a800e.png

This May, VATPAC invites you to Canberra for the next edition of Panic Stations! Whether you do a short hop from Sydney or a long haul from San Francisco, make sure you arrive on time to win exclusive prizes (and bragging rights of course)! VATPAC controllers eagerly await your arrival at a fully staffed Canberra (YSCB) between 0700z and 1100z.

    Event Details

The aim of Panic Stations is simple; get as many aircraft flying into the destination as possible with one objective, be the first person to arrive into Canberra at or after one of the arrival times, for your chance to score bragging rights and win a prize!

The touchdown times are as follows: 0830z and 1000z

Note: Pilots must depart from an aerodrome more than 30 nautical miles from Canberra to be eligible to win any prizes.

We recommend you bring some extra fuel as controllers will be busy trying to accommodate the vast amount of pilots while maintaining separation standards.

    Prize Details

This edition, VATPAC has partnered with Impulse Simulations to provide winning pilots with a special prize! You can find Impulse Simulations on Instagram and Facebook.

For Pilots: There is one prize available per touchdown time for pilots; one for 0830z and another for 1000z. Make sure to turn around quickly if you miss the first prize to earn the second one!

0830z: Impulse Simulations YSCB and a product of your choice from Impulse Simulations
    1000z: Impulse Simulations YSCB

For Controllers: All participating controllers, who control for at least one hour during the event, will got into a draw to win a $10 discount on any Impulse Simulations product!

    Previous Winners

We would once again like to congratulate the following pilots who took home the prize during the last Panic Stations, held in Melbourne.

    0900z Touchdown  | VOZ1373  | Freddy H
    1000z Touchdown  | JST239  | ShengTang Z

Congratulations to our previous winners who will be giving up their crowns to three more participants. Will you be one of them?
