i agree (autogen, scenery distance/density), also texture resolutions, which is very noticeable on the rain effects and clouds, not so noticeable in the sceneries is the shadows/shaders and building detail/resolution.
FS2020 is definetly the most worthy base package for a sim, and plenty of scope for ALL developers to work with.
Found this fs2020 graphics settings, which basically verified what i noticed,
pay particular attention to the texture resolution setting applicable to your graphics card
also more info about screnery cache and internet download usage starts at 17:15

Like to see how XPlane is going to beat FS2020

YSCB to YSSY
This is probably the best preview and review i've seen of FS2020, and better yet, from a local in local Australia

I can't find anything on Melbourne

The trees kill me too, obviously autogen, i'm sure that will be fixed before release.

Good reference for expected performance, his computer specs are at 4:59

I want to start this thread of FS2020 of ALL things Australia maybe Oceania, what do you reckon?

Exactly, pre-cache
broadband data is huge, and was mentioned by one of the MSFS developers, so there will be an offline mode and pre-cache mode, skim this little avsim thread to the end https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/560146-can-we-see-images-of-pre-cache-mode/?do=findComment&comment=4065305z
I know the link is old, but i just can't find other quotes ATM, but MSFS mentioned it so i'm good, you didn't need to know that a pre-cache would be needed, because Bing maps is being used which is just like FStiles/FSEarthtiles, but with better/more data, and FStiles downloaded so much data, it got Googles attention
You would just pre-cache your local/frequently used area from the available 2+ petabytes of bing data, i've seen/mentioned youtube'd an average fs2020 10 hour flight test/s used 9GB of internet data, not bad really, but it adds up because that test did not mention live weather and live AI flights, (Which wouldn't be much more data for the area) nor did he mention leaving the mapped area. Which ALL depends on your internet connection, as you mentioned, which makes not only Australians nervous (but mostly Australians nervous)
Cache size is not so relevant (min 500GB and up, all good), because you ain't gonna cache 2 petabytes , but i feel speed is relevant for the cache.
So IMHO discounting pre-cache storage option for FS2020 is just a waste of downloading frequented data. And on my rigs i like to keep things seperate, OS , FS, Storage

I'll be pre ordering Premium Deluxe boxed edition from Aerosoft, a new SSD (maybe NVMe) for w10 and NVMe for cache. Then fly FS2020 and see what i can't live without

Anyone noticed the height of the trees at 1:20

got it, pricey, want more, maybe p3d v2.5 is getting my attention or is it dx11?

Anyone able to enlighten me about Steve's DX10 fixer, costs a bit, is it worth it? looks like a bit of setting up to be done, are there real benefits? I like the eye candy. Would like to hear what everyone else has on there system.

Dang, still don't get to fly in to a Vatpac conference, or maybe ....

I can't help myself by again writing how much I love this plane, and the developer deserves the praise, havin been flying the NGX for a while, I noticed an update for Majestic's Q400 and proceeded to update for the purpose of doing other flights. Having also finally purchased ASN (I reckon this is my most ridiculously expensive add-on for FSX for what it does/comparable) to work with REX+.
The fixes are noticeable, yes it bounces on the ground (a little bit), but flying the Q400 is outstanding, I reckon it's better than the NGX, solely cause your lower, slower (scenery is amazing (FTX)), and you feel the bumps (turbulence, I can't get enough of it RL).No disrespect to the NGX, it is good, that is well documented
The service pack is essential, can't wait for the PRO and shared c/pit.
Can some one suggest how to record FSX videos for proper editing?

Thanx James, I welcome wing views from the VC. I most like to watch engine start up, surround sound awesome  , wing views for ice accumulation excellent, i haven't seen the windshield ice up yet.
Having problems taxing in YSSY and the aircraft bounces once and keeps on bouncing (end flight)

Awesome plane, a few little niggles, i've just got to learn the Turboprop again, does anyone find it hard to look for ice on the leading edge from the VC without changing views? Absolute magic :teeth:

Awesome day Trevor,
Really nice to meet fellow flight simmers in person.
Great hospitality, great cockpit, absolutely beautiful, and a really enjoyable flight.
I thank you for the invitation and look forward to flying with you again.
