  1. To the valuable members of VATSIM Australia Pacific, I wanted to take this opportunity to announce that Harrison Scott recently provided notification to the remaining Board members that he does not intend to continue in the role of VATPAC Director Operations effective immediately. This decision has been under consideration for a while although the recent departure of Callum from Director Division was a determining factor on the timing of this announcement. Speaking on behalf of the Board, I would like to recognise the efforts of both Callum and Harrison. Harrison has been nothing but professional in his execution of a role that is one of the more difficult roles in the division. Operations involves a lot of data, documentation and what could only be described as rather boring and unrewarding work, however he has managed to effectively lead his team in a time of major change within VATPAC and VATSIM. Thank you for a fine job Harrison and I (and I am sure the remainder of the VATPAC staff) wish you well for the future. Callum came on board as VATPAC1 just over 12 months ago and hit the ground running to move the Division forward and build on the development of his temporary predecessor. Through his tenure he has built a strong team and oversaw the implementation of major change including but not limited to Audio for VATSIM (something that many will be unaware involved considerable manual labour), the new and much more functional (so far) VATPAC Discord Server and laying the groundwork in bringing about an all new controller client for your region. Part of the reason for the somewhat deflated feeling within the senior staff team in recent days is brought on by the fact that Callum was in some resects the glue that kept us coming back to the table engaged and motivated to moving the division's policies forward to bring a more inclusive and active community together. Again, Thank you for your efforts and I hope to see you return to the VATPAC staff team soon, where I expect you have a lot more to contibute. Regards Greg Barber VATPAC Non-Executive Director
  2. Yeah stop being so bloody pleasant!
  3. Luke did very well, I didn't hear what he was dealing with, but it was apparent it was frustrating for him when he just wanted to provide the best service he could. I understand supervisors were involved however I don't know if any action was taken.
  4. Yeah great.... The green is SYD-1, Yellow USA-W and Singapore (next logical choice) is the one under SYD-1.
  5. Hi Daniel, I think that may be an incorrect link. All Airservices charts are available via VATPAC ATC Assist (available to everyone) or via the airservices website. Thanks for pointing out the error. Hope you enjoyed the event.
  6. Thanks for the report guys. Looks like the VATOCE Pilot Training program is going great guns. Well done to all involved!

This problem has now been rectified and controllers experiencing this issue may download the new version from https://vatpac.org/controllers/clients/. Apologies for any inconvenience.

  21. Greetings VATPACers, It is with great regret that I address you all this evening. Over the past several months there have been some developments of a management nature that have come to a head this evening. Approximately 4 months ago, VATSIM saw fit to appoint a former and somewhat inactive VATPAC Director to a regional management role without consultation. Since this took place I have become increasingly concerned with the direction of the region and the amount of interference that has been forthcoming from VATSIM Oceania to VATPAC. As per the VATSIM Code of Regulations, the Regional Director has to duty to delegate authoritative control to the Division Director and should not involve themselves in the day-to-day operations of the division. It is my firm belief that this regulation is being increasingly breached and absent any real support from the VATSIM heirachy I have this evening tendered my resignation as Divisional Director. I am unable to support the future direction within the region. I will be making arrangments as soon as possible to hand over all my authority to the Acting Director Division. I would like to thank all the VATPAC Board and the staff, no matter who you are or what you do for your consistent and unwavering support during the last few years. I firmly believe I have left this position with the VATPAC Division in a better shape than when I accepted the postition. Thank-you and good evening. See you in the virtual skies.
  22. Hello All, I am pleased announce that Callum Strawbridge has been appointed as the new VATPAC Director of Events. Callum has been a member of the events team for several months with a focus on major and special events, having had previous experience at Director level in VATSIM Asia. Over the next day or so he will receive a handover from the outgoing director Paul Tyquin. The Board would once again like to thank Paul for his hard work over the last 12-18 months and looks forward to working with Callum into the future. Congratulations Callum!
