  1. In seems unnatural, for an en-route controller to provide aerodrome services, although Euroscope and VATSIM make it quite straightforward. Would it be huge violation of policies to not provide such services and indicate "No aerodrome services, request airways clearance at holding point" to pilots? Essentially, treat major aerodromes like non-towered Essendon, regardless of traffic volumes.

  2. Click on TX/RX in 125.3 nameless entry to disable its radios and manually add ML-TBD_CTR to the list: click on the little cross, type ML-TBD_CTR, click on check, click on TX/RX in the new entry to enable radios. The correct position and frequency will now be seen by pilots.

  3. It certainly helps if a VATSIM-er is a virtual pilot as well as a virtual controller, but one must remind him/herself while controlling not to predict, double guess, preempt, nor try to understand pilot's decisions or behavior, for he/she is not in the cockpit of the particular aircraft and has no access to the the numerous sources of input to the pilots' decisions, and hence have to just accept them and act accordingly to provide the best possible air traffic services. Conversely, while flying, a controller must not to double guess, question, disagree, or worse argue with controller simply because he/she is in the cockpit now and have other things to worry about, leaving air traffic control to someone else. Just a thought from my first month as VATSIM ATC, and thank you to everyone who came in contact with me during this time.
