VATPAC invites you to the next Real Operations event featuring Perth International Airport. Fly in or out of Australia's western hub with a wide selection of medium intercontinental hauls or international routes to Asia. If short haul suits your fancy, fly a FIFO hop to the many Kimberly mine sites. As always expect full coverage provided by our excellent air traffic controllers.

    What is Real Ops?

Real Ops Perth is a major event hosted within VATPAC's airspace on the VATSIM Network. This event aims to closely replicate and simulate the real schedules of Perth Airport.

Join us on the 26th of August between 0600z and 1200z to capture the peak arrivals and departures for Perth. Flight slot times are based on a typical weekend schedule offering the most accurate schedule possible.

We will provide documentation to help ensure the smooth operations of this event. This document will be released to the public a few days before the event.

    How does it work?

To simulate Perth's real-world environment, we have carefully laid out slot times for pilots to book. These slot times are replicated from the real world to the best of our ability.

A pilot will need to secure their slot before logging onto the network, if a pilot decides to log onto the network without a slot they will need to contact Perth Delivery to receive clearance which will be given based on an available slot. If a pilot is inbound from another airport into Perth; they will be accommodated as best as possible.

    Event Details:

Real Ops Perth is designed to allow pilots and controllers the opportunity to replicate the real world operations of Australia's largest airport. Fly either domestically or internationally as you hurtle your way to/from Perth!

VATPAC and Indonesia vACC proudly present Darwin - Makassar Shuttle. Fly out of your comfort zone and explore the beautiful archipelagos of Indonesia with this short route to the capital of the island of Sulawesi. Depart Darwin between 0800z and 1000z on Saturday, March 13th with the expectation of full ATC. Aim for arrival between 1000z and 1300z for ATC provided by our close friends in Indonesia.

    Pilot Information
Departures out of Darwin will be expected to fly the JULIE5 departure off of the chosen runway at Darwin, departing between 0800z and 1000z. Alternatively, pilots may request the DN5 departure, however this should only be used if absolutely necessary. Due to Darwin's unique taxiway layout pilots are advised that extra fuel may be required for ground delays. Extra fuel is also highly recommended for delays in the air.

Pilots can expect a STAR from waypoint NUKPO. Sultan Hasanuddin (WAAA) caters for all shapes and sizes with their 2 runway configuration (RWY 03/21 (3100m) and RWY 13/31 (2500m). Depending on winds, STARs for runway 03 will allows pilots to join directly onto the ILS and shoot the approach. Approaches for runway 13 will require vectoring to final. Due to high terrain to the east of the field, runway 21 utilises a procedure hold to align aircraft with the centerline. As always, if your aircraft is unable to fly holds, advise ATC on first contact.

    Routes
VATPAC recommends the following route for this event:
YPDN > WAAA: DCT JULIE J61 IKUMA Z86 DIL W37 NUKPO DCT

    ATC Information
Any controllers interested in providing ATC services during this event are encouraged to apply here. Applications will be open until Thursday 10th March, on which the roster will be released for public viewing.

Non-Standard positions will be rostered/opened if operationally required. Alternatively, non-standard positions can be opened in accordance with the NOTAM regarding the Activation of Non-Standard Positions found here.

  4. Noticed this hasn't been updated yet 😄

Latest VTC charts released with the NOV 5th AIRAC have changed the VFR approach and departure east of YPJT.

    • Armadale (ARE) has been renamed Armadale Shops (SHOP)
    • Inbound aircraft now track Canning Dam (CDM) or Mount Dale (MDE) to Wungong Reservoir (WUNG) then onto Russel (RUSS) before entering the Class D via FDL

    • Thanks 1
  5. Thanks, finally able to get this working

However I have noticed the uplink.txt file is broken in the PDC category. (possibly other categories too)

For the fixed-form messages 'MAINTAIN : [level], SQUAWK {CODE}' and 'DEPARTURE FREQ : [FREQUENCY]', Hoppie interprets the semicolon ':' as the end of the message and therefore you can't enter in the variables for level, code or frequency.

The simple fix is to remove it from line from the PDC section in the uplink.txt and it should work.

  6. I keep getting an error message when I try to start Vat-Spy up with the new update in Windows 10.

The link below takes you to an album I made with the screenshots I took of the issue.

I downloaded the already edited version of the Vatspy.dat and FIRBoundaries.dat and copied them to my %appdata%\Roaming\Vat-Spy folder.

I hope to watch the arrival of Worldflight 2016 in Sydney this afternoon and I would like to see the new sectors in action.
