  1. After 10 years with no updates, I have finally updated VAT-Spy. It now downloads the data files from the VAT-Spy Data Project web site on GitHub. It will automatically download any new files posted to that site.

    Here's the full change log:

    • VAT-Spy now pulls data from new VATSIM JSON data feed
    • Added automatic updating of the VAT-Spy application
    • Added automatic updating of the VAT-Spy data files from the VAT-Spy Data Project on GitHub
    • Zooming using the mouse wheel now zooms towards or away from the mouse cursor
    • Removed broken Simroutes.com links
    • Set data refresh rate at 1 minute
    • Removed the option to change the data refresh rate

Note that if you have customized your data files to have anything that is not present in the data files found on the VAT-Spy Data Project web site, then those files will get overwritten with the official data files from that site when you first run v1.1.0-beta.8. If you don't want to use the official files, you can go into the VAT-Spy settings and disable downloading of the official data files. You can then restore the backup of your customized files, and they won't get overwritten by VAT-Spy when new versions are posted to the GitHub site.

Please remember that this version is still considered to be in the beta testing phase. There will likely be bugs and crashes. Please post here any feedback or bug reports here in this forum.

  7. Hello everyone

It is with much pleasure that I announce the appointment of Peter Sandiford (CID 1081732) as the new Membership Manager for VATSIM Oceania effective 4th March 2017.

With Peter appointment, I would like to aknowledge the work of our previous VATOCE3 Arjun Murthy and wish him all the best in his retirement from the Oceania Regional Team in VATSIM.

Please join me in welcoming Peter to the Regional Team as the new Oceania Membership Manager VATOCE3.

  8. Arjun Murthy has tender his resignation as Vatsim Oceania Membership Manager. Arjun has been part of the Vatsim Membership Department since June 10 2010.

I would like to thank Arjun for his work while in the position as Vatsim Oceania Membership Manager along these past years and wish him all the best.

Arjun hopefully you still be part of Vatsim and will be able to hear your voice on the scope or in the skies.

The position "Vatsim Oceania Membership Manager - VATOCE3" replacement will be advertise within the next few days in the Vatsim / Vatpac / VATNZ forums.

  9. VATSIM is pleased to launch a new method to communicate with the Supervisor team by email.

If you encounter an issue whilst on the network and need help, you should continue to type ".wallop [your message]" in your ATC/pilot client, which will be sent to all online Supervisors.

If no Supervisor is available to assist you or you wish to report an incident after it happened, you should email [email protected] with as much detail as possible. You should also use this email address for queries relating to:-

    - Supervisor feedback and complaints

    - Suspensions (but not DCRM decisions - see the appeal procedure which was sent to you)

    - The Code of Conduct

    - Suggestions for the Supervisor team

    - Becoming a Supervisor

Your email will be fed into a ticketing system which is monitored by the VP Supervisors, Assistant to VP and the SUP team leaders, which means that your query can be assigned to the correct person and be quickly actioned. Previously, emails sent to vpsup@ had to be manually moved between different people which caused unnecessary workload and delay. There is no need to contact vpsup@ in future - all such emails should be forwarded to [email protected] where any emails intended for the VP will be marked as such.

If you wish to contact me directly you can still use [email protected] but any routine queries which fulfil the above criteria will be forwarded into the system for action.

    Thank you.
